Please WELCOME HPCA's new Secretary:
Dr. Judy Jarratt
Dr. Judy Jarratt began her work as Executive Director and Dean of the Lubbock campus on July 1, 2021.
Dr. Jarratt most recently served as the Senior Director for the Campus Alliance for Telehealth Resources (CATR) –Supported by TCHATT program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, in the Department of Psychiatry, Lubbock, TX. (2019 – 2021)
From 2004 to 2019, Dr. Jarratt served on the Lubbock campus of Wayland Baptist University as a Professor of Education and Professor of Counseling. Dr. Jarratt holds an Ed. D. in Educational Administration from Texas Tech University, along with a Master of Science in Counseling and a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Houston.
Dr. Jarratt taught high school science in Brownfield ISD and served as a School Counselor in Wellman-Union, Meadow and Seminole ISDs. Dr. Jarratt finished her public school career as the Administrator in Seminole ISD.
Dr. Jarratt’s administrative roles include the Campus administrator for the Seminole Success Center, the Alternative Education Program in Seminole ISD; the Provost for the Carlsbad campus of University of Southwest (formerly College of the Southwest; and the Senior Director for the CATR-Supported by TCHATT Program at TTUHSC.
She is a Certified School Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. Dr. Jarratt is an advocate for promoting positive mental health programs in both the community and school settings. In her previous tenure at WBU, she served as a Coordinator for the School Counseling program as well as the Coordinator for the Education program on the Lubbock campus.
Dr. Jarratt is eager to identify opportunities, guide change and strengthen the impact of Wayland Baptist University in Lubbock and surrounding areas.
Dr. Jarratt has two sons and 2 granddaughters.

Renetta Harris
Mrs. Renetta Harris is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed S*x Offender Treatment Provider in Amarillo, Tx, and a doctoral candidate (ABD) at Texas Tech University in the Counseling Supervision and Education Program. She is a moral and systematically sound counselor that heals using a humanistic and person-centered approach. She strives to become an educator, scholar, and researcher in counseling education, focusing on the areas of multicultural-social justice, human rights, leadership, emotional intelligence and the empowerment of others. Renetta received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University in 2016 and her Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from West Texas A&M University in 2014. She has researched and presented several multicultural-social justices, women rights, and leadership topics at the Women’s and Gender’s Studies Annual Gender & S*xual Identities Colloquium and conferences and the Annual Multicultural and Social Justice Mini-Conference while attending Texas Tech University. In her free time, Renetta loves to be outdoors with her two tiny pups, and it excited to welcome her first grandbaby this November 2021.
