3rd Anniversary celebration race is in the books! Thank you to everyone who took time out of the holiday weekend to come out and race with us! Good luck to all those heading to Albuquerque New Mexico next weekend for Round 7 of the 2024 Rocky Mountain Summer Series / Border Wars Series at Arcor Raceway! Their new track layout looks fantastic!!!

It is race day at Amarillo Raceway Park!! Track got another round of water. We will grab some lunch and be back to open the gates at 2pm!! Reminder racing starts at 4pm today! Double A mains for electric and nice long main for nitros!!! Awards for top 3!

We spent the day preparing for any potential weather we might get tonight! So far we are looking good. Most of the weather today, skirted around the track. We put the pumps out and have them ready to go if it does rain tonight. Forecast is looking good for tomorrow afternoon and Saturday!!!

Let’s do something special to celebrate Amarillo Raceway Parks 3rd Anniversary month! We will be racing Labor Day weekend, Saturday August 31st. Awards for top 3 in each class!!! More details to follow!!! Stay tuned!!

We are gauging interest to see about racing Labor Day weekend. A few people last night expressed interest so we wanted to open the discussion to see the level of interest.

Podium pictures from last nights racing! We appreciate everyone who endured one of the hotter race days we have had. Knowing we were fighting the heat, we decided to keep the track wet all day leading up to practice. That effort, along with refacing the step up jump, rewarded us with some really good track conditions! Thanks to everyone who helped with the watering schedule!

Reminder that we will not be racing next weekend. We adjusted our race schedule to work around the Rocky Mountain Summer Series race that was rescheduled. Good luck to all those who are making the trip to Colorado next weekend!!

Since it is an off weekend for RC car racing, we have been tackling property maintenance!! Freshly cut grass/weeds is pretty satisfying!!! Thanks again to Chris and Kevin for helping us with equipment to maintain the facility!

3 years ago today!! August 8, 2021 was the first official race at Amarillo Raceway Park! That was the day the track went from a practice track to “a racetrack”. Thanks to everyone who has helped along the way! Many volunteers have spent a lot of hours on various projects to improve the facility for the benefit of the hobby! Thanks to the local racers as well as all those who travel to race with us from Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota and from many different parts of Texas! We appreciate everyone who has been a part of the story! Those who have helped as the race directors! The companies like Team Associated , Team Losi Racing and Tekno who have provided prizes for the larger races! Also we could not do it without help from Kevin and Chris who provide equipment to maintain the property and track! Also we want to take time again to thank AW Broadband for helping provide Amarillo Raceway Park with the ability to monitor the track and conditions as well as broadcast our races so family and friends can watch from wherever they might be!! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the community who keeps the races rolling!!!

Being it only got to about 100 degrees today we went ahead and started resurfacing the track!! We will work on keeping the moisture base up as much as we can this week! Hopefully we can get the moisture level correct so that it will pack nicely for Saturday nights racing!!!

Here are the podium pics from the July 27th, Saturday night club race! Thanks to everyone who came out to race this bonus/make up race! We did have a first time racer and it is always great to see new people come out to the track and get started in the hobby! Also want to thank Aiden and Daniel. Aiden was unable to be there so he loaned out his buggies so others could try them out.

Reminder that we are racing RC cars tomorrow night, Saturday July 27th!! We have been putting down lots of water and plan to water several more times tomorrow before the track opens. Track should be really good!!! Hopefully we can have enough cars to split the buggy class in sportsman and expert.

RC CAR RACES AT AMARILLO RACEWAY PARK ARE CANCELED FOR TONIGHT.

With more rain overnight, there is no way the track will dry out enough to race RC cars tonight. The track has had measurable rain, for the last 3 days now. According to the weather station at the track. We had over half an inch of rain on Thursday and Friday. We worked to get that water pumped off the track. Then since midnight last night the track received another .37 inches of rain. We simply don’t have the equipment or man power to keep up with that much rain, so close to race time. Thanks again to AW Broadband for providing the local RC community the ability to monitor the track and conditions! As always we will try to make up the race on a weekend with better weather.
