Pickering Field Sidewalks (NORTH ST. AND HIGHLAND AVE. PORTION ABBUTING PICKERING FIELD)

Update – July 25,

The Borough has contacted an additional arborist to perform and an evaluation and report to assure the health of the tree.

Update- July 10,

The construction plans are being updated and NO trees will be removed, the contractors will be on site to prune/trim roots so that the excavation to construct the sidewalks does not damage the roots. This work was always in the scope of this project and is overseen by an arborist.
They may also prune branches this week. We need to maintain clearance under the trees for the work to occur and for pedestrians after the project is completed.

July 8, 2024
Ambler Borough Engineer is currently reviewing the plans for construction of the pedestrian sidewalk to make sure that the four trees marked along Highland Avenue that were marked are not removed unnecessarily. One of trees along Highland Avenue is diseased and will be coming down. Any tree(s) that will be removed will be replaced. Ambler Borough prides itself as a town with many street trees for shade and environmental benefits and would not be taking down any trees unnecessarily.

Thank you for your all of the residents overwhelming concerns regarding this issue. It is great to see the outpouring of care for trees within the community which the Borough shares. Trees are not scheduled to be removed tomorrow and are currently being evaluated by the Borough Engineer as was relayed to groups and individuals inquiring last week.

Water Main Repair – Williams Road
MAY 17, 2024

The Ambler Borough Water Department is currently assembling a crew to make repairs due to a water main break in the area of Williams Road and Sheaff Lane in Whitemarsh Township. You may be experiencing low water pressure or no water — this may affect several neighboring streets. The water will be off beginning at 1:30 pm and will remain off for several hours during the repair. Once water is restored, please run the cold side of water faucet to be sure the water runs clear. If the water is discolored continue to run the cold water until water runs clear. Once the water is clear you can resume using both cold and hot water. If you have a water softener, it is suggested you by-pass the softener until the repairs are made and water runs clear. We apologize for the inconvenience.
