Another Client Commission completed-
Our clients wanted to have their Grandparents sideboard updated to fit with their more modern furntiure. The body of this piece was finished in a light grey and the top was refinished in a lighter grey-brown.

Another commissioned piece finished.
Client wanted her kitchen table refinished from the traditional "orangish oak color" to a raw wood with white & grey wash finish.

Welcome to Graceful Creativity.

Our journey began as many do; a hobby.
We got our start refinishing furniture when we bought our 200 year old farmhouse back in 2017. We were struggling to find new furniture in the style we wanted, that was both well built and affordable. Since we hate to see "perfectly good" anything sent to a landfill, we turned to marketplace to find some vintage and antique pieces we could update, and use in our home.

Fast forward a few years to the pandemic. Our good friends found themselves in a situation where they needed to move overseas and sell their home and most of their belongings fast. The initial listing price they were told was less than what they owed, they had no money or time to do major updates or to pay for professional staging. Unsure what to do they turned to us for help. We came up with a plan and with little to no budget, and a small group of our friends, we got to work cleaning, painting etc. When it came time to stage the home, we realized there was not enough furniture left because most of theirs had already been sold. We used whatever was left, borrowed what we could and then once again turned to marketplace to fill the gaps. We picked up free and inexpensive pieces and refinished them. The real estate agent was so impressed with the house, that he now felt confident he could list the house for their desired price and not the original low estimate (and he got multiple offers).

Our friends were thrilled and constantly told us we should start our own business. We brushed the idea aside but decided to at least try and sell the pieces we refinished.

To our surprise every piece sold, and sold quickly and that's how Graceful Creativity and our motto started,

We began looking for more pieces to save from landfills, then eventually customers started asking if we could refinish their pieces, make custom pieces etc.

The business continues to grow and evolve everyday. On top of offering beautiful completed pieces of furniture, we have many pieces you can choose from and customize. We offer a variety of home decor pieces, personalized apparel, tumblers, accessories, we even expanded and now offer home repairs and handyman services.

Here is an example of a perfectly usable piece that was headed for the landfill.

We restored this bathroom cabinet and gave it a new life. It was pretty beat up, had water damage, several cracks and a lot of chipping in the veneer. After some repairs, a new paint job, hardware and faucet. It looks brand new for a fraction of the cost, and kept it out of the landfill.

We took a rusty beat up vintage student-kids desk and refurbished it.
It is now a one of a kind original John Deere Tractor🚜 desk that any kid or John Deere enthusiast would love. (The wheels are decorative. They turn, but do not move the desk)

This set belonged to the clients Grandmother however the dated look didn't fit with this young families style. Instead of replacing the set they decided to refinish and repurpose these family heirlooms.

The dining table was completely refinished and updated with a dark stain. The buffet was painted in a soft white with a dark stained top to match the table. The hutch top was painted & stained to match the buffet and repurposed to a wall mount shelf.
