The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Eat the oil (of olives) and use it on your hair and skin, for it comes from a blessed tree" (Tirmidhi).

Olive oil is a great moisturizer! It is wonderful for sensitive skin as it is a very gentle on the skin. You’d be surprised to learn that no scent is left behind, and it will leave your skin feeling so soft and smooth. This oil absorbs quickly on the skin. You don’t need to worry about it leaving your skin feeling greasy as it is a very light oil.

I love using this oil as a moisturizer after a hot shower! I no longer have to worry about dry, itchy, skin, and I no longer feel the need to use any lotion anymore - and yes I do use my own products. ☺️

Narrated Sa`d: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "Whoever takes seven 'Ajwa dates in the morning will not be effected by magic or poison on that day." (Bukhari)

Ajwa dates are my favorite! Not only do they have many physical benefits, they are also spiritually beneficial. Some narrations mention 7 dates and other narrations mention to eat some ajwa dates. People have benefitted from both.

Many of our foods contain toxins/poison and I believe ajwa dates should be regularly incorporated in one’s diet. You can find them at your local Islamic store or on Amazon!

How can you take better care of yourself?

How many of you practice Ruqyah on a daily basis? Ruqyah is more than just for spiritual protection and healing. It is a beautiful Sunnah of the Prophet that has been overlooked or forgotten by many and needs to be regularly implemented by all of us. Let’s revive a forgotten Sunnah!

When Allah wants something to happen, it will happen, and it is a reflection of His ultimate wisdom and perfect plan for us. As Muslims, we believe that Allah is the ultimate power and authority over all things, and that He has complete control over every aspect of our lives.

When Allah wills something to happen, it means that He has ordained it, and it is part of His divine plan. It may be something that we have been hoping and praying for, or it may be something that we never expected or could have even imagined.

It's important to remember that even when things don't go according to our plans or expectations, Allah's plan is always perfect, and He knows what is best for us. We may not always understand the reasons behind what happens in our lives, but we can trust in Allah's infinite wisdom and love for us. After all, He is Al-Wali, our Protecting Friend.

When Allah wants something to happen, it may require us to have patience, trust, and reliance on Him. It may also require us to take action and make efforts towards our goals, while seeking Allah's guidance and blessings along the way. Tie your camel and trust Allah.

Ultimately, when Allah wants something to happen, it is a reminder of His mercy, love, and guidance, and an opportunity for us to deepen our faith and connection with Him.

Often times when we think or hear of self-care, we think it’s just bubble baths, face masks and resting.

Self-care is so much more than that.

It isn’t indulging in temporary pleasures or ignoring responsibilities, it’s about caring for your mental, emotional, spiritual, relational health and more. Real self-care is about taking a holistic approach to your wellbeing and finding healthy balance in your daily life.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) has told us of the great virtue of Surah Al-Baqarah as a whole, and of some of its verses such as Ayat Al-Kursi (Verse of The Throne) and the last two verses of the chapter.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Do not turn your houses into graves. Indeed the Shaytan does not enter the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited" (Tirmidhi) and “Read Surah Al-Baqarah, for reciting it regularly is a blessing and forsaking it is a cause of regret, and the magicians cannot withstand it" (Muslim). He (peace be upon him) also said, "He who recites the two verses at the end of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him" (Bukhari & Muslim).

Surah Baqarah is one of the most powerful chapters of the Quran. It is also the longest chapter in the Quran and can be overwhelming for many to read in its entirety.

Many individuals have reported an increase in blessings when they started to recite Surah Baqarah regularly. For some, their doors of rizq opened, money and new opportunities flowed, some were able to get married and have children easier, some were relieved and cured of their physical, mental, and spiritual ailments such as cancer, anxiety, depression, spiritual afflictions such as evil eye, jinn possession and black magic and for others tension eased within their home and their relationships flourished. Many say their whole lives changed for the better after they started reciting it regularly.

Reading all of Surah Baqarah in a day was one of my long time goals and alhamdulillah, I thank Allah for allowing me to finish it for the first time by myself last Thursday. I make the intention and the effort to read it each day and make dua that Allah allows me to stay consistent and firm in this new habit.

The first 4 tips are what I used to help me read it on my own. I added a 5th tip since quite a few have used and benefited from this tip.

1. Listen to its recitation daily: If you feel overwhelmed with reading Surah Baqarah, I encourage you to first start by listening to its recitation daily during the car ride, in the house, while laying down etc. This will help you familiarize yourself with the verses and many of the phrases.

2. Practice with your Quran teacher: Reading along with a teacher ensures proper Tajweed and recitation. Spend anywhere between 15-30 minutes once a week reading it with your teacher. I spent anywhere from 15-20 minutes each Friday reading it with my Quran teacher after reciting verses from Surah Kahf over the phone. You can have a class over the phone, video call or in person. Once you complete reading all of Surah Baqarah one time with your teacher, it will give you the confidence to read it on your own within a day!

3. Divide it into 4 sections: For me and my mushaf, each section contained 6 pages. Read each section throughout the day. Maybe one part after fajr, one after dhuhr, one after asr, and one after maghrib. It might take you anywhere from 35-50 min to read each section.

4. Use a stopwatch or a timer: Track the time it takes you to read. This can help you stay focused.

5. Read along with a reciter: You can use Quran.com to play each verse and repeat after it if you don’t have access to a Quran teacher.

Once you read all of Surah Baqarah just once, inshallah you will feel accomplished and confident and will feel as though you can read any surah after that with ease!

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Ghusl (taking a bath) on Friday is compulsory for every Muslim reaching the age of puberty." Sahih al-Bukhari 858

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) said, "Anyone of you attending the Friday (prayers) should take a bath." Sahih al-Bukhari 877

I'm excited to spend my Friday today by:
⭐ Taking a shower (ghusl) in the morning
⭐ Reading the first 10 ayahs of Surah Kahf and the last ten ayahs
⭐ Going to Jummah prayer with my sister at a new masjid
⭐ Eating ice cream afterwards at La Michoacana. It'll be my sister's first time trying thier ice cream. They have lots of different flavors and have dairy free ice cream as well!
