Meat was terrific! Cooked much leaner than I expected. The unspiced meat was tasty but I love salt so that kicked it up with creamy Kerrygold aged chedder. If you like a greasy burger this is not for you, if you like a burger that you can taste and feel the texture through the condiments, this is it!

Several years ago I had the privilege to shoot, meet and eat, with Top Chef Sakai at a So Cal Japan America Society event with my daughter and Doug Erber. Not sure if Top Chef would approve of red oak wood, but he would appreciate the mix of Japan and Santa Maria BBQ !

Tonight it’s Akaushi Wagyu Burgers from this cool Japanese butcher in Buena Park. BTW, the burgers were affordable but you can spend over $150 per pound for some New York steaks there I’ll update as I As I BBQ tonight.
