I’m Renee, the founder of The Body Café.

After 19 incredible years as an esthetician, I’m thrilled to finally step into the spotlight and share a bit about my journey with you all.

From the moment I dipped my toes into this industry, I knew I’d found my true calling. With a background in exploring various career paths, esthetics became my anchor, my passion project turned lifelong career.

You’ll arrive makeup-free, and meet our experienced lash artists.

We will go over your lash goals and the style you want to start with.

Then you’ll lay down in our soft, heated beds to be prepped for the lashes.

We will place tape on your lower lash line, but don’t worry we have many different options for sensitive eyes.

Then after an hour of chatting or napping, we will prepare your eyes to open so you can let us know what adjustments you want us to make.

Then after all of the adjustments are made and you are completely comfortable in your lashes, we set up your next appointment for 2-3 weeks out.

Know the difference between the lash extension and your natural lash. Your extensions will shed naturally until your fill, but don’t assume the extensions are your natural lash.

It is necessary for your eye health and the longevity of your lash extensions. We care too much about you to let that fall behind!

Residue buildup around the lash line can harbor bacteria and potentially lead to eye infections. An eye infection is the opposite purpose of lash extensions.

The oils and residue that build up along the lash line can cause irritation and can also reduce the lifespan of your extensions. That means more maintenance and more fill ins.

This is your reminder to clean those lashes and book your fill in!

We all have those days where we don’t feel pretty and want a change in our appearance.

A great way to help yourself feel beautiful is getting lash extensions that compliment your features.

It is important to keep your lashes clean to prevent infection and other unwanted affects, so we put together a list to help you :)

Clean your eyelash extensions twice a day using a lash shampoo or an oil-free makeup remover.

Avoid oil-based products, as they can weaken the adhesive and cause your extensions to fall off.

Be gentle when cleaning and brushing your lashes to prevent damage and premature fall out.

Use a gentle cleansing brush to wash your extensions.

Schedule refills every 2-3 weeks to maintain the fullness of your extensions.

Wash your extensions at least a few times a week, if not daily!

Are You Neglecting Your Lash Aftercare?

If you have lash extensions, you need to follow an aftercare routine.

Here at the Body Café, we of course have some tips for our lovely ladies.

Don’t wash your lash extensions and avoid steam 24hrs after the service. We suggest showering before the appointment if possible!

Use a cloth to wash your face and avoid those pretty eyes.

Don’t use oil-based products, they will break down the adhesive and ruin your new lashes!

Don’t use the lash curler or mascara, you should already have enough “oomph” with your extensions.

And please, avoid excessively touching your lashes.
