Boulders Beach is home to approximately 3,000 penguins who settled in the area in 1983! I don't blame them for settling on a beach 🌊

The pool holds about 3.7 MILLION gallons of water 😱 and offers lots of fun attractions hidden within it's depths. The pool itself is themed as a sunken city and features modern city fixtures such as lamp posts, ATMs, phone booths, billboards and more. The city is complete with a garage full of cars and motorbikes, an arcade, an apartment setup with a full bedroom, kitchen and dining room, a library and other surprises.

Fun Fact Friday! In San Alfonso del Mar resort located in Chile, you will find the world's largest swimming pool! This man-made paradise is approximately the size of 20 Olympic swimming pools and stretches over 20 acres of land! This pool is so large that it's actually encouraged for people to use their sail boats, kayaks, and other water toys to explore. It uses a computer-controlled suction and filtration system to suck water in from the ocean at one end and pump it out at the other, while the sun warms it to 26C - nine degrees higher than the sea. Who's paying for my flight?!

Fun Fact Friday! Caño Cristales is often called “the river of five colors” or the “liquid rainbow”, and according to local legend, it escaped paradise to flow through the Earth. Surprisingly, this is not magic conjured up by a unicorn, but a unique phenomenon taking place between June and November. A rare, endemic plant called macarenia clavigera lines Caño Cristales’ rocky riverbed and for much of the year, appears a muted dark green hue but when water levels rise and just the right amount of sunlight reaches the river's floor, the plant bursts with color! Each year, this ecosystem appears vastly different than the year before!

Fun Fact Friday! You might be looking at a photo of a real life candy land, OR it might just be one of the 29 PINK lakes discovered in the entire world! The color of the lake, contrary to popular belief, is not caused by cotton candy! While originally a mystery, scientists have found that these lakes are the homes of both Halobacteria and a type of algae known as Dunaliella salina. These organisms thrive in lakes with super high salt content and secrete red pigments into the water giving the water it's beautiful pink color!

Fun Fact Friday! The Escape park located in Malaysia is home to the longest waterslide in the world! At 3,645ft long, it takes guests 4 whole minutes to reach the bottom!

Fun Fact Friday! The world's largest backyard swimming pool, which is located in El Campo, Texas, holds 600,000 gallons of water! The homeowner had a vision of the little country pond in his backyard being converted to a tropical oasis that the whole town could enjoy and wow, did his pool builder deliver! This backyard also features a 500ft lazy river, a sunken bar, waterfalls, playgrounds, and $250k worth of palms trees flown in from Florida. To recreate this would cost $3 MILLION. They aren't lying when the say everything's bigger in Texas! 😱

The Titanic was the second ship, the first being her sister ship, to include a swimming pool on board! Introduced in 1912, this enclosed "swimming bath" was filled with heated seawater and conveniently located above one of the boiler rooms. No mixed-gender swimming was allowed, so men and women had different allotted times to enjoy the pool. The pool was built exclusively for 1st class customers and the twenty-five cent entry fee included a bathing suit! The Titanic’s pool is behind one of the watertight bulkheads on the ship, so while explorers currently cannot access it, they theorize it should still be in pretty good shape!
