Trail Life Troop In-0608
The Trail Life Troop located at Fairview Missionary Church in Angola, IN
In our last meeting in April, we learned about God’s creation in astronomy and made our own constellations in black plates. Then we ended the night with some dodgeball.
This awesome group of men and boys completed a 5-mile Hike-a-thon to help fund their adventures with Trail Life. You can still reach out to any of these guys to contribute to their fundraiser to help pay dues, buy uniforms and supplies, and fund camping trips.
This week at Trail Life, a team of dads taught our Woodlands about simple machines and tools. What’s more fun than playing with tools and hoisting your friend in the air with a rope and pulley?
This week at Trail Life, we learned about Science in Weather and used our “cloud viewers” to identify clouds.
Eight new boys (seven pictured) received their Trail Life lanyards from Asher, the First Officer, as they officially became Trailmen this week! (Their uniforms are coming soon.) God is doing great things in the hearts of men and boys in Angola!
It looks like we will be ordering more uniforms and lanyards after we printed out name tags for our six newest Trailmen!
Yesterday we learned all about the different branches of the military from Mr Ray, a veteran and one of our Woodlands Trail Guides. The boys had so many questions for him and loved the uniforms and real handcuffs. You’ve never seen such a wiggly group of boys listen so closely.
Our boys will be coming home tonight with an opportunity to invite others to fund their adventures with Trail Life through our upcoming Hike-a-thon. Make sure you find a Trailmen and let him know how you'd like to help.
“A remnant is rising. In Trail Life USA, nearly 20,000 men across the country are standing in the gap and utilizing outdoor adventure as a tool to lead men and boys into a life of adventure, character development, and leadership. Men are searching for ways to get off the sidelines, connect with other men, and engage meaningfully with their sons.”
Get off the Sidelines! Across America, men are stepping up and discovering a band of brothers uniting to transform generations.

Our troop leadership team met tonight to plan things through the rest of the year including our spring camping trip. We’ve got a great group of men helping to point our boys to Jesus and to “walk worthy”.
There’s something so satisfying about our getting new Trail Life uniforms in the mail for our growing troop.
We had a great time bowling and finishing up our “Sports & Fitness” pin. We were missing a few but it was still a great day!
Our troop is growing! Lots of engaged dads helping to teach our boys to fold flags and learn the history behind Old Glory as part of American Heritage pin. The older boys were upstairs learning about credit cards, debit cards, insurance, and credit scores as part of the Personal Resources Badge.
Here are some gems from the photo archives from 2021. This is the largest Trail Life regional campout that has numbered 1,000+ for many years now.
Just a few shots from our Court of Honor, December 2023
Our first Court of Honor with our new troop was a success! Thanks to all the leaders and parents that make our troop a success!
"I believe Trail Life is the answer for boys. In this culture boys need men to support them, encourage them, and proudly stand behind them as they courageously stand up for what they believe. Boys need an organization that teaches them by example and provides them the support they need to become Godly men."

This is why we Trail Life. This was from a Trail Life dad.
Tonight we had the Cairl brothers teaching the Wooodland boys (K-5) about what to do in an emergency situation, such as when you find someone unconscious.
It's hard to find us in the sea of faces but in this photo of 1,500+ people, you will find Troop IN-0608! Last month a group of us went to the Jim Ramey Memorial, Daniel Boone Basecamp. Many thanks to the dads who made this memorable camping trip happen and all the moms who got things organized and packed for us to go.
Here is our latest calendar. Be sure to mark your calendars and invite your family to attend the Court of Honor Badge Ceremony on Tuesday, December 12.
Tonight our Trail Men learned the important skills of staying calm and helping in first aid situations.
We didn’t get a group photo until some people had already left. The boys made some good memories and some awesome men came together for a lot of teachable moments.
Our first campout as a reorganized troop is underway.
