Steuben County 4-H Program Indiana
Steuben County 4-H serves school age youth in grades K-12 with hands-on educational experiences rang
Our motto, "To Make The Best Better" encompasses our intent to encourage youth to learn and explore ways in which they can make a positive different in thier lives as well as the lives of others. The phrase "Learning By Doing" is often used to summarize the educational philosophy as the 4-H program tries to involve youth in their learning via hands-on educational experiences. The 4-H Pledge:

We know its early, but we heard (and experienced) the lack of food options this year and want to make next year full of food options!
Share with your favorite food vendors! We'd love to have you for the whole week, but we will happily take you for a day or two! Help us increase the food options at the 4-H Fair!
Reservation forms available at https://bit.ly/2025SteubenFair or in the Extension Office!
Thank you to all who supported the pork stand this year, through working, sponsorship, or eating pork burgers!
Every year, pork stand workers earn $40 a shift that they can donate to the 4-H group of their choice! 4-H Clubs, Barns, and even the fund to keep our bleachers maintained were given money this year.
All non perishable (including Floriculture) State Fair projects are due to the Extension Office by 4:30 pm on Thursday!
Make sure you have skill cards or craft information cards if need for your project!
Garden, Herbs, Foods, and Foods Preservation are due to the Office by August 5th, between 8 - 8:30 am.
These ladies are about to get to know each other really well! In roughly two weeks, our team of six (4 teens and 2 Educators), will travel to Bethel, Alaska, to immerse in the culture and teach The Art of Nature curriculum to kids in grades K-6. We've planned, prepped, and started packing!
Two sessions of Chef University took place with YMCA Summer Camp kids this week! They loved the loaded veggie pesto pizza, and nearly everyone tasted the homemade ricotta cheese. They couldn't stop eating cucumbers with their hummus earlier in the week either! Despite what everyone thinks, kids will eat healthy food when it's offered. 🍅🥒🫑
