Dear Valued Imagination Street Guests & Friends,

This letter is to address the unexpected and difficult closure of Imagination Street, which was announced abruptly on Thursday. I recognize that the initial communication may have seemed insensitive or insufficient. Furthermore, I understand that many of you have questions and may be feeling anger, frustration, and hurt. Please know that I acknowledge and deeply empathize with these emotions, and they carry an immeasurable amount of weight on my heart.

It is with immense sadness that I confirm Imagination Street will not be reopening. This situation places me in an incredibly vulnerable position, but you deserve to know the circumstances leading to this closure. Creating Imagination Street was a significant risk for my family, but one driven by a vision to offer a unique and joyful experience for families in Ankeny and the surrounding area. The vision to make this truly special never wavered, and even now it is hard to come to terms with it knowing it still had so much more potential. Despite best efforts and unwavering commitment, the combination of personal hardships and the financial demands of running a small business have proven too great. Options were exhausted in an effort to prevent this closure, and I truly remained hopeful that an alternative would emerge. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. The abrupt closure on Thursday was unexpected and beyond my control. The immeasurable amount of sadness I feel not being able to give proper notice has been gut-wrenching and filled with so many emotions. I wish deeply I would have been able to take some course of action before this occurred, even if closure was imminent. To the families who have been impacted greatly by this abrupt closure and upcoming special events you’ve been working so hard to plan, I feel incredible sadness. In time I pray you will accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience and disappointment I’ve caused you, your family and your party guests.

To our loyal supporters, I extend my deepest gratitude. Your smiles, support, and the joy you brought to Imagination Street have meant more to me than words can express. The connections and friendships formed during this time will always be cherished.

To my incredible staff, past and present, thank you for your belief in our vision, your dedication, and the hard work you contributed to making Imagination Street special. I am profoundly grateful for your support and the friendship we shared.
Regarding funds for booked sessions, gift card balances, unredeemed gift vouchers, play passes, and special event deposits, I fully understand and acknowledge your frustrations and concerns. Your requests for refunds are valid; however, at this time, no commitments can be made about refunds, the status or timing of refunds, including those who received direct communication Thursday about their upcoming events. Please know this situation weighs heavily and I appreciate your patience as I work through the details and next steps.
