There is plentiful parking on the residential streets East of us and lots more parking to the West (beyond Leaning Tower). See you soon!

We will be open normal Saturday, May 11, but you may have to walk a few extra steps to reach us due to the brand new Ankeny Arts Festival happening right outside our building. The festival runs 10am-4pm but road closures and vendor setup will begin at 7am. Plentiful parking will be available on Pleasant Street to our East, Walnut street to our North and 3rd Street, West of Leaning Tower. We hope you won’t let a short walk keep you from your morning routine and that you’ll hang around Uptown Ankeny to check out this brand new community event! Last night we were able to have some fun with other Uptown neighbors and wonderful business owners and community leaders at the Ankeny Chamber Annual Dinner. Joel will never brag on himself but that won’t stop me from doing it! Much to his surprise, he was awarded Small Business Person of the Year. Though I may be biased, it’s no surprise to me. This guy has worked tirelessly over the last 7 years to keep this business afloat while juggling being a father, husband, and volunteering on the Uptown board. He’s had many curve balls to navigate all while keeping an optimistic attitude. He loves this community dearly and wants nothing more than families to be able to enjoy the original Uptown neighborhood. We are so grateful to our loyal customers, Uptown neighbors/business owners, city leaders and members of the greater community who help keep him going when days are hard. I could go on and on with how hard he works but I’ll leave it at this; Joel, Raegan and I are so incredibly proud of you. This award is well deserved! 💛

We call this one Mount White Mocha! It’s part of the new snow mountain range in Uptown Ankeny. A new winter attraction that nobody wanted. There’s also mount Pepperoni, Mount Mullet and Mount Meat to name a few.

Kidding aside, WE ARE OPEN TODAY (Sunday, January 14) and will plan to be working normal business hours the rest of the week. Now that the sun is out and the wind has left us, we are asking you to BUNDLE UP in your Iowa finest and go out and support your favorite businesses this week. They all took a major hit last week and were already in their toughest two months of the year. Our team is looking forward to seeing you and I know our neighbors are as well! Be safe out there.

We’ve never been afraid to be a little different when it comes to the coffee business. When you look at our tip policy (we don’t take them), our eclectic music mix, our nostalgic decor and our number of flavor choices, it could be said we break the mold. We are content with that and get the impression our guests are too! Another way we stand apart is that we actually like it when you pay with cash! If you get out of the house even occasionally, you’ve noticed businesses are beginning to pass credit card fees on to their guests. It’s done through price increases or an additional fee on your purchase. In some cases it’s disguised as a discount if you pay cash. Rather than doing that, we’d rather just be real with you and say “we’d really appreciate it if you’d consider using cash when you visit”. The amount of money that this small business spent on credit card processing fees last year could have instead allowed us to hire two more part time employees, pay the existing team a dollar more per hour, refresh or replace multiple pieces of aging equipment, or allowed the owners to take their first vacation in 7 years and their kiddo’s first real vacation ever (she’s 8). We are of course thankful for any business that comes our way and will gladly accept any form of payment you have that day. That may even include washing dishes in the back if needed! Thanks for reading and continuing to loyally support your neighborhood caffeination station!

We are thankful for many things today! A hard working team, a wonderful group of loyal regular customers, continued growth, and tons of potential (to name a few). Though we’ve been slinging Egg Nog and Peppermint North Pole style for a few weeks now, we thought TURKEY WEEK was a good opportunity to revisit a few Fall favorites. Whichever season you are feeling this week, we are here for you!

It’s almost Turkey time! Normal hours this week with the exception of Thursday. That day we’ll be firing up the Mr. Coffee at home like the rest of you!

Word on the street is that there is one place you can’t get an Egg Nog Latte this year… Lucky for you that isn’t THIS place. And since we are good Iowans there is only one type we’d consider using! BYOMM (Bring your own moose mug).
