When the Waukee Community School District needed underwater security cameras installed in their high school pool, Baker Group was up for the challenge. Our team, including the skills of a certified diver from Baker Group’s security team, tackled this unique project to ensure the safety of all who use the pool. We are so pleased to help Community State Bank build their new facility.
Baker Group has long been a regional leader among fabrication shops in using laser cutter technology to handle specialized metalwork. Our powerful new cutter has the ability to cut stainless steel nearly a half-inch thick, and aluminum and brass more than a quarter-inch thick. The technology provides increased efficiency and the ability to handle more complex custom metal work than ever before.

We're dedicated to nurturing the next generation of skilled workers! Last week, Baker Group staff visited Goodrell Middle School in Des Moines to teach students how to safely operate an excavator, connect electrical circuits, build ductwork, and work with piping. The students also enjoyed a tour of the Baker Group shop.

At Baker Group, when duty calls, we are all about quick action and teamwork! After Corteva AgriScience lost a vital 400 ton chiller on July 25, our team swiftly coordinated to replace it with a 500 ton chiller, a 60 hp pump skid, and a 1 meg generator—all sourced and delivered from central Texas to Iowa in just a few days. By July 29 at 9:30 a.m., our team had the system up and running, cooling the facility efficiently.
