OUCH! Do you have Mommy Wrist?

Many post-partum moms experience this common ailment, but it’s also common in athletes and those who do physical labor.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
De Quervain tenosynovitis, also known as Mommy Wrist, is caused by inflammation over the base of the thumb and wrist due to repetitive movements (such as lifting and holding a baby). It can cause symptoms such as:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😣 Pain and swelling near the base of the thumb
😣Tenderness
😣Difficulty moving the thumb and wrist when doing something that involves grasping or pinching*
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mommy wrist can also make some hand movements difficult.

And the National Institutes of Health agrees! In fact, they report inadequate sleep can increase your risk for long-term health and cognitive problems.

Not getting enough sleep can impact your metabolism and your heart, respiratory and immune systems.

➡️ The study included three groups of patients: one that received standard pharmaceutical treatment for migraines, one that received chiropractic spinal manipulations, and one that received placebo manipulations. The active study period lasted for three months, with a one-month run-up beforehand, and then follow-up periods at three, six, and 12 months afterward.

The number of migraine days significantly ⬇️ for all three groups from baseline to post-treatment, while this effect continued for the chiropractic treatment group through all the follow-up time points.
