At TEACH, we believe in the importance of good health and well-being. That’s why we’re participating in World Health Day (WHD) to raise awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. This year's World Health Day, which will be held on April 7th, focuses on the interconnectedness between the planet and our health.

This year for world health day, let's pledge to do our part in protecting the planet, so that we can safeguard our health – now and for generations to come.

Although Chloe cheers for Ohio State, her parents credit University of Michigan Health pediatric doctors for saving her life. Back at Mott for her fourth open heart surgery, the Moser family shares their recent experience with U-M pediatric heart surgeon Vikram Sood, M.D., who affectionately refers to Chloe as his "favorite Buckeye." , Chloe and !

This past week we had a special visit from 2021 Miss Michigan, Vivian Zhong! Zhong, an alum of the University of Michigan, has a history of visiting Mott to perform her classical piano skills for patients. Now, she’s currently in medical school studying to become a pediatric oncologist. One of her goals as Miss Michigan is to bring awareness to childhood cancer research. Thank you to Miss Michigan and the Dick Wagner “Remember the Child” Memorial Fund for the wonderful instrument donation in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!💙 💛 🎵 🎹

When we took a pause of operations just about 18 months ago, we really did not think TEACH – Michigan would be away this long. While we first found ways to stay involved and engaged on campus and with our Little Victors at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, our organization certainly has struggled to adapt as volunteer services remain suspended in the hospital. We have seen many of our dedicated members graduate and many new students express interest in joining an organization with an uncertain future. While we continue to wait in this period of limbo, we are working behind-the-scenes to get TEACH – Michigan back up and running and hopefully make a return to our patient experiences this year.

Until then, please continue to remain safe, wear your masks, encourage your friends/family to get vaccinated, and hopefully soon we can close this chapter once and for all.
