Nothing makes us happier than helping families pick out the perfect set of furniture, or the best car seat and stroller for their lifestyle. But recently we have seen an uptick in a practice called SHOWROOMING. This is where people come into the store to see and tryout products they are interested in, and then go home and purchase from another website (or put it on a registry that is not linked to us). Most people don’t understand how detrimental this is to small business. We are proud to have a beautiful store filled with the largest assortment of products in Texas, as well as a highly specialized team that is here to answer all of your questions. We purchase the floor models for you to touch, see and feel, and brick and mortar overhead costs are substantially higher than a warehouse that a website ships from. We know this is what it takes to offer a best in class experience – and the model works – as long as customers support us by purchasing the items they are seeing at Crib & Kids…from Crib & Kids. Our industry is very price regulated, so the price is the same at our store as it is on Amazon, Nordstorm, or any other online retailer you are seeing. And if for some reason the pricing is different, we happily price match😊. So we kindly ask that if you see it here – please buy it here – so you can keep us here for years to come. Hey, friends! I’m reaching out today with something I never thought I’d have to say—our beloved store is at a critical point, and we need your help to keep our doors open.

Nearly 12 years ago, my mom, Vicki, and I embarked on a journey to bring valuable resources to parents in Holland, Michigan. We became the third owners of EcoBuns Baby + Co., which began as a cloth diaper store during a challenging time in my life—I had just gone through a divorce and had a six-month-old and a two-year-old. If you’ve ever wondered why we have toys available for your kids to enjoy, it’s because I needed to keep mine entertained while I worked!

Over the years, Ecobuns has been a cherished part of the Holland/Zeeland community, growing and evolving alongside it. Just this weekend, a mom visited with her daughters, now in college. She was one of my very first customers when we took over!

However, this year has been tough for many businesses, including ours. We’re facing a financial crunch, and the reality is we have just two days—October 22nd and 23rd—to raise the funds needed to cover our bills and avoid closing our doors.

But we’re fighters! We’ve weathered health crises, a pandemic, and economic downturns, and we’re determined to keep going. Each morning, I come in early to create social media content and plan events while ensuring our store remains stocked with amazing toys and resources for babies, toddlers, and tweens.

Despite our efforts, we’ve only made four sales today, and while I’m so grateful for those customers, it’s not enough to sustain us.

I didn’t want to post this, but you all deserve to know what’s at stake. I love this store and our community deeply. As I write this, I’m not ashamed to admit that tears are flowing because I care so much about what we’ve built together.
