Another semester in the books!
One of the many great examples to come from being engaged with campus life while at Washtenaw Community College. Keep up the great work Evan!
Starting today – April 24 – we’re profiling 24 members of the 🎓. That’s one each day until commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 18!
Evan Aeschliman chose to attend Washtenaw Community College for two primary reasons: First, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to study in college and WCC offered the flexibility to check out multiple potential programs. Second, he earned one of six full-ride President’s Honor Scholarships awarded to Saline High School Class of 2022 graduates.
Turns out, being a student employee in the WCC Sports office helped him find his career pursuit. After completing an associate degree in General Studies at WCC with a 3.95 GPA, Aeschliman is transferring to the University of Michigan to study Sports Management.
“I got plugged into working in the sports office my first fall on campus and fell in love with sports management,” Aeschliman says. “(Manager of WCC Sports) Matt Lucas has been the biggest mentor and best boss I’ve ever had. He lit the flame for me and I’m letting that carry over to the future.”
Aeschliman also served as president of two student organizations (Entrepreneurship Club and Marketing Club) during his time on campus and founded the WCC Investment Club.
He says the best thing to come from his time at WCC is the “connections and relationships I made with co-workers, classmates and instructors. It’s been top-notch.”
