On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at approximately 9:36 AM, First Responders and rescue units were dispatched to the area of Travelers Rest Court for a plane crash. Reported that a plane was seen crashing into a field or the river.

9:40 AM—The plane has been found. It is confirmed to be in the Tred Avon River. Boats are out with the plane; however, no one has been found yet.

9:42 AM - Requesting a dive team to the scene. The tail of the plane is out of the water. Requesting two more fireboats.

9:48 AM - There is a very large debris field. This is a rescue mission.

9:52 AM - DNR and Coast Guard have both been notified.

10:17 AM - There are dive teams coming from Anne Arundel County.

11:38 AM - A dive team has recovered the pilot from the aircraft. Please keep this person's family in your thoughts and prayers today.
