Body Balance Yoga is a practice of functional and structural yoga.
We don't care if our leg can go behind our heads, we care that we have long term healthy hips. That walking remains smooth and easy and the breath flows in and out like a glass lining up with a faucet. We practice with a sensitivity to the nervous system allowing for greater communication for our bodies to orient effectively in space. Balance from informed feet keep us moving in the direction of the moment and future so there is no need to balance on our heads. We work towards making space and not taking it away.
Our practice our choice. We make no excuses and own the consequences of those choices. Do You?

Our bodies often do the opposite of what we want. They make noise when we want to be quiet, run out of steam when we'd keep going, stay up when we want to sleep, demand undivided attention when we're already very busy. SECOND SIGHT
The sense of been seen by the one you love or even been seen or found by one you imagine you could love in your future, through the intensity with which you are seeing them – or looking for them -- the reciprocation of that seeing -- the essence of the mutual, loving gaze - even into the distance, even at a distance. It is not confined to the merely human. It is the essence of religious experience, or of looking intensely at a landscape or the ocean, the give and take of the shoreline where the two meet, the river coming to meet us; the way we we fall in love, and perhaps equally, find ourselves in love with the tidal essence of the world that we inhabit. Did you know? The uterus may play a role in memory.
That's according to research from Arizona State University which found evidence of a "uterus-ovary-brain system" that involves the healthy functioning of the autonomic nervous system and brain.
It's just one example of all the things we *don't yet understand* about the human body and why we need to stay curious and humble. Because that's how science works.

What Is Fascia? Body fascia is multi-layered, and it plays an active role in the body. It supports tissues and organs, lessens friction, or eases muscle tension.

No matter how much time goes by, years and decades even, there will be days in which grief erupts with force. I call these grief 'bursts'. The pain will feel raw and fresh. In this plastination you can have a spectacular glimpse on our sinuses inside our skull.
Sinuses are moist air spaces within the bones of the face around the nose. When they become infected and swell or become irritated, this is called sinusitis (or a sinus infection). These infections usually follow colds or bouts with allergies. Sinusitis is common and easily treated.
When someone has a cold or allergies and the nasal passages become swollen and make more mucus, so do the sinus tissues. The drainage system for the sinuses can get blocked, and mucus can become trapped in the sinuses. Bacteria, viruses, and fungi can grow there and lead to sinusitis.
