I don't post a lot of my personal life on this page anymore because I'm trying to highlight more of my work than me.

Well I had a great conversation with commercial model she encouraged me to share what I'm doing, even if it isn't just my work, period. I believe transparency is key when you're working on a difficult period in your life.

I was laid off from my corporate job a month ago and it completely zapped me. I have Bipolar II so it's been a major depressive episode that I'm only now coming out of. I'm so excited for the new projects I have on the horizon!! I have a few creative photo sessions coming up with some clients in the fall I'm excited to execute.

All of this to say is my calendar is very open until I get a new job. While I long to try photography full time, due to medical conditions I have I MUST have insurance and paying for it alone is very expensive. Fingers crossed for new opportunities to come soon. Until then, I'm and 🖤📸

I had a photo session with a client of mine who has been coming to me for almost a decade now. She messaged me last minute asking if I could do family photos in lieu of her model portfolio update because she had no professional images of her new baby girl and her son, who is leaving for college this week. Being trusted with such important images is not lost on me. I'm so fortunate my clients want me to capture not only their careers but their families as well. 🥹😭🖤

once said that "Photography is a way to look deeper" and I've been thinking about that a lot recently. I've been lucky enough to capture so many people of various talents and walks of life. Their stories and dreams have impacted me and my work. Their reality has been incorporated into mine.

I am so excited for my upcoming projects and recent collaborations. As the weather cools down and the leaves begin to change, autumn sessions are coming!! 🥰📸

One of the coolest things about being a photographer for as long as I have is being able to see my clients and their children grow through the years.

I met my beautiful niece, Air, when she was just a year and half. Her mother has been one of my longest clients and dearest friends. Naturally, when she wanted to do unique I was beyond ecstatic to do a session with her.

do not always need to be cookie-cutter. They are supposed to be a celebration of a young person's completion of high school and taking the next big step into adulthood. Capturing their personalities in that stage of their life should be memorable not just to parents, but to the young person as well!

I've been fortunate enough to have been tapped by for photos since I first started my photography. I think we were like 15-16 years old when we first started to work together. Since then, I've been hired by him on several of his musical projects.

I took a break from editing and sessions this weekend to spend some much needed time with my partner. We ended up at a Sip and Shop at and found some extraordinary pieces from a local artist by the name of 🖤 We ended up getting an old school wooden Donkey Kong sign for our basement and these beautiful that were super cool and a nod to 🥰

What a lovely find and I'm so excited to add them to our video game themed basement!

I photograph so many talented creative people. Models. Actors. Musicians. So many variations of artists! It's such a blessing. Then I get to capture families over time. It's been so great to watch children grow up and my clients evolve over time. I'm so lucky.

HELLO!! My name is Ren and I am a professional visual artist focused on the media of photography. I've been working in the field since 2005... when I graduated high school. (Yes, I know. I'm dating myself 🫠)

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Communication with a concentration in Photography and a Master's Degree in Social Enterprises focused on International Negotiations and Conflict Resolution. My goal is to do good in the world and photograph some awesome people in the process. My main clientele are talent related individuals like models, actors, and bands. I also occasionally do sessions with families and recently began doing brand photography in the last two years.

Outside of photography, my latest obsession has become bullet journaling in a more "junk journal" style, though I love the pretty planned aesthetics some people create.

My studio is located between Baltimore and Frederick, Maryland in the cute little town of Mt. Airy. I have my own private woods to frolic in, complete with a creek and old building foundation. My set up is portable and I travel well! ✈️

Always take photos. Even if you're not hiring a professional. We all have a mini camera on us (our cell phones) and life is so precious with beautiful fleeting moments. So take that awkward selfie. Do that improv goofy poses with your friends. Take a picture of that beautiful scenery. We only have today!

I don't think cosplayers get enough credit. They're designers, prop engineers, and sometimes they can make magical moments for fans of the character they are cosplaying, especially for kids.

Somehow, I connected with photographers in South Africa, Nigeria, Scotland, and Japan. This is when I love the Internet.

My Instagram feed makes me want to travel and go make friends with models and photographers aboard. I want sprawling landscapes with different colors and textures and old structures that are likely haunted to go frolicking in within driving distance of my house but noooo. 😭

At least I have the woods. 🖤

Me, learning how to make reels, becoming a digital marketing strategist, learning new editing techniques, trying to understand social media algorithms, while working on my website, imagining new concepts, attracting new clients, and being up-to-date on an otherwise very vibrant but busy local art community.

I haven't been posting a lot because I took the month off to regroup, work on my craft, and slowly chip away at revamping my website. I'll be resuming photo sessions in July, so I can give myself space to refresh. Creative burnout is no fun and it's not something I'm a believer in "muscling through" so to speak.

Is every session going to spark this incredible creative peak that the masses adore and want to do a similar concept? Nope.

Should I give my all to my clients in every session? Absolutely. If I can't do that then I need to be honest with myself and rest so I CAN show up and be my best for everyone who books with me.

June has been a time to buckle down and focus. I'm refining my editing style, creating a client experience package, redesigning my website, my studio space is FINALLY organized, and started a Digital Marketing Certification through the University of Maryland.

Here's to being able to provide better services for my clients!
