Utsava Beach Yoga
What better place to find your zen than on the beach?
Utsava was founded almost 4 years ago to bring yoga to EVERYONE, no matter your physicality or circumstances!
To my friends family faire-mily, those effected by hurricanes, tornadoes or just life at the moment… know that it is ok to feel!
In a time when we are told to be grateful, and we are, for what was not lost, it IS ok to mourn what was lost.
Take moments (plural, try not to let it build too big), to mourn the little things which may now be gone. No matter how small or silly they may seem, know that it is ok to FEEL that sadness!
Feeling the sadness allows us to then be more grateful & helps us to find happiness so that we may continue.
Hearts are full right now. They are full of stress, love, sadness, joy, aggravation, persistence, maybe even hate. But we are human, we are resilient.
TOGETHER we can do this!
Love🥰, light 🌟 & puppy 🐶 kisses to everyone out there going through life. 😘
In case you’ve been wondering what I have been doing with my spare time… miss you all!

Today is my 6th Yoga-versary, meaning that almost 7 years ago I began a journey of self-discovery & healing.
Over this time I have had the opportunity to share gifts of wellness, self acceptance and understanding. As with many things in life, yoga is a practice, not a perfection. This reminds us to not worry as much about always being “right” or getting it “right” but simply sharing the experience & enjoying the moment.
I love sharing a task/ meditation which Mr Rogers often asked of people... he said to take a moment to think of all those who loved💗 you into being. Those are the ones who helped you become who you are. (Watch that scene in the movie & you will understand the weight of it!)
And so, even though we are not gathered together to celebrate, throughout my day, I will give moments to think of those of you who have loved me into being, for you all are why I exist in such a wonderful way!
Thank you! Love 💗 Light 🌟 Namaste 🕉 and Puppy 🐾Kisses!
This girl is already 8 years old!!
She’s my baby, a fantastic big sister, my boo-bear, our baby manatee, my daughter & so much more than I ever could have imagined. Her love is unconditional & her happiness always contagious. She brings light to all sadness & keeps me going. Her love of treats & riding in the car are her simple pleasures as much as getting ear rubs and giving kisses.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Annabelle Madeleine/ BELLA! We love you SO much!
It has been a while since I posted, I apologize. I've put off this communication long enough and I now post with tear-filled eyes.
As many know, due to county ordinances, we are no longer welcome to participate in group activities at the nature preserve. After nearly 6 years, this unfortunately forced us off our beach last September. Talking to county officials to acquire special permission to proceed is a long, time-consuming process. We are not certain we will ever be able to continue due to this and other "life" things.
For those wondering or may have suggestions as to where we could go, please know that we have looked into and considered other locations. The biggest issue would be parking; we had anywhere from 10 to 65+ students attend. The next issue is findability; to easily be able to know where the practice is held and accessibility for everyone. Most housing community centers already host a free yoga session. Personal houses are just not feasible. Other beaches are not within accessibility. We truly have looked and considered a lot of places within 10 miles of our home.
I want to thank each and every one of you who attended regularly or even just once. At the start and end of our practices, the words I said always came straight from my heart: it is truly an honor to share this gift of wellness. You helped me grow not only as a yoga and wellness leader, but also personally.
As the 6th anniversary of achieving my yoga teaching certification approaches, I am saddened that the celebration will not include me wearing a giant tutu guiding you in a silly practice on our beach as we have done for 5 years hence.
Bella, your original beach yoga dog, is more upset than anyone I think. Gracie had just gotten the hang of things along with Baize and Ash (Regina's furbabies) and still get excited when I say the "beach" word. They send lots of puppy kisses!!
If at some point we are welcome back on the sand, or if we find another outdoor venue to continue (yes, I've looked but none will work as we need for our uses), I will be honored to lead you once again.
At this time, I leave you with this:
*Honor your mind for the guidance and direction it gives. Minds control thoughts, thoughts control actions. Let us do our best to keep our thoughts pure and positive, understanding & joyful!
*Honor your body for its movement and motion. Within our bodies are our lips and across our lips come our words. Let us always be mindful of the reverberations our words always carry.
*Allow your heart to remind you that you are loved. You are loved because you are good enough... not for who you were yesterday or who you hope to be tomorrow, but because you are more than good enough exactly as you are in this very moment! Know that you are worthy of that love and you ARE loved!
*Remember to always connect to your breath; it's what makes us wonderfully human and connects us to each other. We're here to help one another, as equals. But also let that breath connect you to the earth helping to keep you grounded & rooted, helping you find balance and letting you know that whatever comes your way, you have it within yourself to overcome if you just have the courage to look for the strength within, and to know when to ask for help from without.
The love and light in me honors the love and light in each of you. From the bottom of my heart, as always, NAMASTE.
When was the last time you laid in the grass? I mean really took a break, lay down next to the puppies or alone, no hammock or blanket… just you & the earth.
I needed this little break. I almost fell asleep!l
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
Have a great weekend everyone!
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
But it’s also Dr Seus Day! (Also known as Read Across America Day). Dr Seuss’ birthday is actually March 2nd, but when it falls on a weekend (like this year), it is celebrated on the closest school day!
Remember to ALWAYS embrace the wonky, be weird & wonderful you!
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
A litt rain this early evening & a beautiful weekend in store… put something wonderful on your to-do list! Ya know, like coming up to the Bay Area Renaissance Faire!
It was Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
I almost missed it because I was out at the Bay Area Renaissance Faire setting up my booth for opening weekend tomorrow!
I know it will be rainy & bleak weather, but we always have fun at the Faire. However, you also have 6 weekends after this to come out & see me.
Look for my fabulous hat & feather booth Tickle Ye Fancy!
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
Be safe this weekend. I think there’s something on tv between some really good commercials people are planning to watch…
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
If you’re venturing out, please be careful, patient and kind.

Have a great day & get ready for a chilly weekend again.
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
Weather is kinda iffy, traffic is tricky, another good weekend for some needed self care.
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
And yogis, it’s cold outside! (Maybe not to some of you, if you’re from up north. But some of us are cold, be gentle & kind. 😉)
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
As we allow 2023 come to a close and prepare for all the possibilities of a new year, we find ourselves in reflecting mode… remember that you are good enough…. Not for who you were this past year, not because of who you will be in the new year… you are more than good enough exactly as you are today, right now! And for that, you are LOVED and very worthy of that love. 💗💗
Happy New Year my beach yogis! I love & miss you!
I found this to be a wonderful reminder that we sometimes forget it's the little things that can save us. My gratitude today is for the community we have at Utsava Beach Yoga for being open to all and the kindness we share with each other. May all have a holiday season that is filled with love and peace.
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
It’s the season to be merry & bright! And although we haven’t practiced together for a couple of months now, we can still celebrate wellness in our hearts!
Happiest of Holiday, whatever/ whichever it may be!
On this solstice morning, the clouds have kept the sun out of sight,
keeping all from looking bright.
It truly will be the shortest day & longest night.
Take some time to pull your thought inside,
finding gratitude during this Yuletide.
But the darkness doesn’t have to bring sadness, find time to reset & cultivate gladness.
Let your inner light shine my little stars!
And let yourself be who you truly are!

When I get to meet someone with a custom piece, today its a feather pin, 9 times out of 10 I choose Armetta's!
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
Tomorrow looks to be pretty icky, so get groceries today and find a good book or download a movie or series. Relax & find the warmth of the love you have at home.
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
It’s also Bodhi Day! A day which commemorates Siddhartha Gautama attaining awakening — or enlightenment — some 2,600 years ago, becoming the Buddha.
We may not be able to spend 49 days under a Bodhi tree (a banyan fig tree) but we can be mindful & quietly observe life as it is. We can be kind, understanding & accepting.
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
Will you be out shopping this weekend? Remember, shopping “big box” stores is ok but shopping small actually helps the community.
Wanna see what Genessis does when she’s not teaching wellness? Come out to the C.A.R.E. Event tomorrow! I will have Gasparilla ready pirate hats starting at just $15! There will also be lots of other local artisans with beautiful & yummy creations.
It’s Fabulous Flamingo Friday!
Come out to the Sarasota Medieval Faire down in Myakka City (just past Dakin Dairy) this weekend & have super fun!

We are all on a journey - of life
Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.
In Sanskrit, Utsava means "beginnings" but it also means "a celebration"! The root of my yoga classes are centered around beginners, because we all start somewhere. In doing this, I want to celebrate this healthy practice!
Having a bit over 10 years of yoga experience, I am a proud dog mom with a strong heart for others. Through a regular yoga practice, I attest to being able to overcome life’s challenges whether physical, emotional, or mental. With the help of my puppies and the power of meditation, I found that yoga can truly heal. To further use my passion for helping others and my first-hand knowledge of the benefits of a yoga practice, I completed the 200-hour training in 2018 and am now passionate about making yoga accessible and enjoyable to all people.
Ever continuing my yogic education, I am working toward many specializations to further help my community. With a desire to share the impact yoga has made in my life, I would like everyone to know that they belong and there is a place for each unique individual. I look forward to meeting you out on the mat!
The love and light in me honors the love and light in you. From the bottom of my heart as always - Namaste.
