Our Savior Lutheran Church
Connecting people to Jesus while growing as a community of hope.
Last week, we welcomed 35 kids to our Scuba vacation Bible school. Throughout the week, we learned how God is a friend who’s real, who loves, who we can trust, is forever, and how He’s a friend for everyone! We heard Bible stories, sang and danced, played games and deepened our relationship and friendship with God.
The VBS students also participated in a mission project, where they raised money for Operation Kid to Kid, an organization that provides clean water for people in Honduras. During the week, our students donated $156!!! This will provide clean water for 31 people for over a year!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated or prayed for VBS!
We have several spots open for young preschoolers to start yet this summer and would love to welcome more young learners into our preschool program!

Congratulations to the 10 Confirmation students who were confirmed this past Sunday!
May you be blessed with wisdom and strength as you embark on this new chapter of your spiritual journey with Jesus. May your hearts be filled with faith, your minds with knowledge, and your spirits with courage through God's grace. As you go forth, may you carry the light of your confirmation with you, finding joy in your studies and peace in your challenges, remembering Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

A note for Thanksgiving from Pastor Neil:
Happy Thanksgiving! An interesting definition: Being thankful and having an attitude of gratitude are 2 different things. Gratitude is a positive attitude of appreciation under any circumstance—you don’t need something good to happen to have gratitude; and when bad things happen, your gratitude does not falter. While Thankfulness is a reaction when someone does something kind for you. Thankfulness is a present situation; & gratitude is ongoing appreciation.” Surely our Lord would have us strive for the latter!
Looking at my own life, I deeply love where my Lord has me working in His Kingdom! Our Savior is a strong church community that sincerely appreciates caring for one another. Then we also have an excellent childcare that teaches all things well, especially the love of Jesus! And what an awesome, talented staff & dedicated volunteers who serve in various areas of church life! Looking at all of this, I am not just “thankful”; My Lord have given me an “attitude of gratitude”! May our great God bless us this week onward in always counting His blessings!
Blessings on your Thanksgiving,
Pastor Neil
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
-Philipians 4: 4-7
Join us for worship tomorrow night as we celebrate Thanksgiving!
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
-Psalm 107:1
