Enrollment is open for the 2024-2025 school year! Visit the Educational Support Center (12555 Navajo Road) now through the first day of school from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm to enroll your student. No appointment necessary for UTK-8th grade enrollment. Visit our enrollment website for the list of required documents and to complete the online enrollment portion. https://www.avusd.org/enrollment

We will continue offering breakfast and lunch at no cost to all AVUSD students at all school sites during the 2024-2025 school year.

Apple Valley High School seniors graduate with medical training, licenses A group of graduates from Apple Valley High School received their medical assistant licenses and/or completed the emergency medical technician class.
AVUSD is preparing to launch a classroom expansion project, designed to serve our Transitional Kindergarten program, at Desert Knolls Elementary, Sandia Academy, and Yucca Loma Elementary.
To facilitate project preparation and construction activities at Yucca Loma Elementary, Yucca Loma Park will be closed to the public beginning August 5th.
Families who live in the neighborhood near Yucca Loma Park will soon have an ADA sidewalk pathway leading to nearby James Woody Park as the Town of Apple Valley, California will construct sidewalks later this summer, connecting Rancherias Road and other neighborhood streets along Powhatan Road to Navajo Road and James Woody Park.

19 Apple Valley USD students, teacher qualify for national SkillsUSA competition The students earned their spot in the nationals following a first-place finish at the state-level competition held in Ontario in April.
At last week’s Board meeting, we recognized Walmart Distribution Center 7033 for their generous and consistent donations to our food pantry during the 2023-2024 school year. They donated about $105,000 worth of food, school supplies, and other essential items from August 2023 to June 2024.
Sandia Academy’s agriculture students have been raising chickens this year. They weren’t able to make it to the fair, so they showed their chickens at school!
Students from Apple Valley Adult School received their ESL Course Completion Certificates and/or their US History and Citizenship Course Completion Certificates this semester!
The Class of 2028 promoted from 8th grade this week! We can’t wait to see you all succeed in high school!

Sycamore Rocks’ TK and kindergarteners showed off their creative hats during their annual hat parade!
Desert Knolls’ 4th graders have spent this school year learning about California history. Their trip to Calico allowed them to see state history close to home!
Buddy, one of PJ’s Pals, hung out with Ms. Ordonez’s class at Rio Vista on “relaxing PJ day” during their ABC countdown!
Our annual end of year bus parade will take place on May 30th at 4:30 pm. Buses will line up outside of the Educational Support Center on Pahute Road west of Navajo Road. They will head east down Pahute Road, south down Central Road, east on Bear Valley Road, and will end at the bus yard at 22974 Bear Valley Road.
Rancho Verde and Yucca Loma students had the opportunity to learn about and sample many different fruits and vegetables that Old Grove Orange Farm grows during their mini farmers markets!
Sandia Academy held their annual staff vs. students kickball game! The staff put up a good fight, but the students came out victorious.

At last week’s Board meeting, 98 students were recognized for their accomplishments throughout the school year. Our high school student representatives also introduced the new representatives for next school year. Hannah, we look forward to hearing from you again next year and Sophia and Ismael, we are excited to hear about all of the things you will accomplish!

PJ’s Pals had an exciting visit with Sitting Bull’s 3rd graders! This was the first year of state testing for these students, so to help ease their nerves in-between tests, they hung out with some adorable dogs.
Tomorrow is National Speech-Language Pathologist Day! Our SLPs and SLP Assistants work hard to help our students overcome the challenges they face by improving their communication skills. Thank you for all that you do to support our students!
