Earlier this summer, a group of our high school students embarked on an incredible 10-day adventure alongside their French and Spanish classmates. They kicked off their journey with three days in Paris, before heading to Biarritz, France, and then crossing into northern Spain. Their travels took them through the stunning cities of San Sebastián, Bilbao, Pamplona, Barcelona, and finally Madrid.
It was truly a trip of a lifetime, filled with unforgettable memories and endless fun!

Help us congratulate Nolan (Xavier Alumni '24) on being announced the 2024 Student Concerto Soloist! He will perform the third movement of Richard Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1 with the LSM Festival Orchestra at their concert on Saturday, July 27.
Nolan is only the second student concerto horn soloist in LSM history after Austin Larson in 2008, who is also a mentor to Nolan. Both have studied with Dr. Atwell, longtime LSM Horn Faculty. Nolan originally learned the piece for last year’s LSM Concerto Recital and has spent the past year refining it. He graduated this past spring and will study horn performance in the fall.

We are fortunate to have exceptional teachers and staff at Xavier. We want to congratulate our Year End Award Winners! At Xavier, we present two different awards to extraordinary teachers and staff members.
Thank you for your continued dedication to Xavier School and our students.
Below is a description of both awards.
Bonner Award In 1991, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Bonner set aside money for St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System because, “We do feel strongly that teachers in Catholic schools should be recognized.” This award is in memory of their daughter, Kathy, who was a teacher prior to her passing.
The criteria for the Bonner award include: 1. Does the person love and accept children as unique individuals? 2. Is the person creative and current in thinking and teaching techniques? 3. Is the teacher faith-filled and spiritual? 4. Is the teacher uplifting and optimistic, willing to go the extra mile?
Extra Mile Award The Extra Mile Award recognizes support staff, who are not eligible for the Bonner Award. This individual must have served one of the campuses for at least five years, fulfilled all job expectations and initiated projects and procedures which created a more pleasant, efficient and effective school climate.
