UPDATE…..Due to weather the show has been CANCELLED for tomorrow and RESCHEDULED for Wednesday Jan. 17th, 2024 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

Our next photo club meeting will be Monday March 13th at the Freedom Historical Society. Socializing starts at 6:30pm and the meeting will start at 7:00pm. We will be judging the print circuit images and our program will be by Gary. He will be talking about TPE (The Photographers Ephemeris), a helpful tool to use for research on moon and sun rise/set to evaluate locations and photo opportunities. Also bring 5-7 images to share with everyone.

Slave Market with the Disappearing Bust of Voltaire (1940) is a painting by Spanish Surrealist Salvador Dalí.

The painting depicts a slave market, while a woman at a booth watches the people. A variety of people seem to make up the face of Voltaire, while the face seems to be positioned on an object to form a bust of Voltaire. Voltaire was a French writer and philosopher known for his opposition to slavery.

The painting was completed in 1940 in oil on canvas. Dalí describes his work on the painting as "to make the abnormal look normal and the normal look abnormal." He uses the technique so-called "Double Image" when one form contains two or more images.

2020 WACCO Spring Competition The images are of the Honorable Mention and higher awards.

The day is almost here Wisconsin! Get ready! Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 12th,the 115th Fighter Wing will perform a flyover, Wings Over Wisconsin, in honor of ALL of the healthcare and frontline workers who have been working extremely hard throughout the COVID-19 pandemic!

Check out the flight path and the schedule below! We wish we could fly over every community, but please know that this flyover is in honor of ALL of these heroes across the state.

This flyover will be accomplished as part of a regular training and proficiency mission.

Residents in the areas designated above should view the flyover safely from home, while maintaining all social distancing recommendations and guidelines set forth in the “Safer At Home” order. They should not travel to hospitals or other public locations to gather in large groups to watch this event.

Viewers of the event are encouraged to tag on Facebook, or use the hashtags: ,

Due to the current state of affairs with the COVID-19 we are cancelling the upcoming April meeting and the Salon competition. We will re-assess everything before the May meeting and let you know if we will have a meeting then.

Thank you Curtis Zabel of Live For Media for the great presentation tonight. Hopefully you have inspired some of our members to use the cameras to capture some video and not just stills. Was one of our most interactive presentation in a long time. A scheduled 1/2 turned into 1 and 1/2 hours. Lots of questions about capturing video, being creative with video and editing. You creativity still amazes me. Wishing you continued success with your business.
