We missed the boat on a Father’s Day post, but better late than never! We hope all of our incredible CrossFit Aptos dads had an amazing day and were celebrated and loved in all the ways they deserve. Yesterday we treasured our last workout with Nicole before she left for Texas. If you have ever had the pleasure of working out with this woman you know what a strong mama she is in every sense of the word!

We have some exciting news!! Coach Sam just passed her level 3 exam! This is no small feat. It is also not the most common thing to have such a knowledgeable and credentialed bad ass running the show 🤩 Sam, your CFA family is so proud of you… WAY TO GO!!!! 👏🏻

AMRAP 20
10 chest-to-bar pull-ups (honoring his 10 years in the US Army)
10 dumbbell thrusters (50/35 lb) (honoring his 10 years spent with Nicole)
*Every 2 minutes, complete 40 double-unders (for his age at the time of his passing). Workout starts with 40 double-unders.
Then...
***At the 20-minute mark, take off for a 2-mile run…ideally a trail run if possible. A two-mile run is part of the Army fitness test, and Chad loved nature and spent many hours in the forest with his family or by himself.
Chad left this world too soon, leaving behind his beautiful family. Nicole is starting a new chapter when she moves to Texas at the end of this month.

Last year with the help of the greater CrossFit community we were able to make a $4,500 dollar donation to the in honor of Chad Peyton.
The Veteran Surf Alliance is an incredible organization committed to helping veterans through the therapy of surfing. It was an organization that was close to Chad's heart, and we were excited to be able to support them in this way.
As we approach the one year anniversary of Chad's passing we are honored to be able to host another fundraiser for the Veteran's Surf Alliance.

Murph is right around the corner! Have you been practicing your push-ups?? How many times have you done Murph? And if you haven't, are you going to?
(That last one was a trick question, because DUH of course you are!!)

That's a wrap! This crew spent every Sunday for the last 7 weeks dialing in lifting form and technique, learning different variations of lifts and celebrating PRs. With fun warm up games (who knew some of you were so competitive?! 🏀) and Kony-esque music sprinkled in, it couldn't have been more perfect. We hope you guys had as much fun as we did!

Last May we lost a CrossFit Aptos family member. He was a wonderful daddy and friend, and loving husband to our much-loved and long-time member . Please join us Saturday, May 21st for a benchmark memorial workout to honor and celebrate his life. There is a $20 minimum donation and all proceeds will go to , an organization that Chad wholeheartedly stood behind and loved. Check them out on Instagram to learn more about their organization.

Today we are celebrating another huge member accomplishment! This young lady completed the 75 Hard Challenge on Sunday! For 75 days she completed daily tasks designed to strengthen the mind and as a byproduct, had some amazing physical changes as well. We are so inspired by you, Rachael. Amazing victory!
A HUGE congrats to Nate for finishing the Boston Marathon in 3 hours 13minutes and 34 seconds. We can't wait to see what you do next!

Ilga is the queen of planks! Before or after each class, she dedicates a few minutes to planking. Often times she rallies a handful of people to join her. It looks like all that extra work prepared her nicely for these effortless weighted planks. Great job, Ilga!
