INTERESTED IN STUDYING IN INDIA?!?!?!?! :D
Read statement from HSU Returnee Paulina Rico. She shares why her Spring 2016 semester in India was amazing:
To study abroad means to enrich your understanding of culture, diversity, languages, experiences, knowledge, wisdom, adventure and much more. Studying abroad is well worth your money; money comes and goes, so do not let money intimidate your desire to go abroad! In the long run, you will be ten times more captivating to the employers. You will hopefully (in fact, you should!), learn and become proficient in a second language, which nourishes your brain. As you embark on your journey to study abroad, I can guarantee that you will make lifelong friends, network and gain cultural competence, which is a crucial skill to have as our world is getting more and more interconnected. You will have immense and intense experiences which will result in personal growth. You will get to know yourself in an intimate and powerful way, you will definitely come across many challenges and waves of emotions, that you probably did not even know existed, but in the end it will be so significant to your life, and you will learn an incredible amount of realizations about yourself. Be open-minded, expect the unexpected, prepare to be unprepared, be extremely patient, be completely unbiased, be respectful and most of all have fun. Remember you are in their country, not in yours. Step out of your comfort zone and whole-heartedly immerse yourself in the culture. And lastly, study abroad in a non-traditional destination!

To all students interested in studying in Japan:
There is a new change to the language pre-requisite for the Waseda University program in Japan. One term of college level Japanese language is now a recommendation – not a requirement. Waseda University does not require students to have Japanese prior to arrival, and as you will see on the Waseda brochure page, the only remaining requirement is one course with a Japanese/Asian focus, but that can be language or culture, history, literature, politics, philosophy, etc.
Applications are open until February 1st for the 2016-2017 school year!
