Join historian to learn what inspired Mattel to develop Barbie in 1959, how Barbie helped make Mattel one of the world’s most successful toy companies, and what Barbie’s impact has been on American culture.

Come rock out with on the Museum Grounds! Their house band will be playing some of their favorite songs for the audience to sing along to.

👛Doll Collection Open House | 9:00-12:00 | The Banta House
The Banta House displays and stores the Martha Mills doll collection, containing more than 1000 dolls, and the Lorraine Korenthal Dollhouse Collection. Come check out the current dolls on exhibit on the second floor of the Banta house. The home will be open to the public from 9-12.

🍭 Lucky Sucker Sweets Game | 8:00-12:00 | Booth
Stop by the Arlington Heights Historical Booth to test your luck! Pull your favorite sucker and earn a sweet treat from our market vendors, local bussinesses, and AHHS. All proceeds go to the Arlington Heights Histoical Society.

We are excited to be adding barre3 signature to our class schedule starting next week. While our instructors are currently going through training we have added a wonderful new instructor and mentor to our to our incredible team. Andrea Strle began as a barre3 client many years ago before becoming a b3 instructor in January 2018. She has taught barre in Ohio, California and now Illinois with her recent move to the area this past summer. Andrea will be teaching signature 45 classes on Wednesdays at 10:30a and 11:30a (a new class time) as well as various weekends starting on January 27. We know you will love her energy and her classes!

The barre3 Signature workout is an efficient + effective workout that combines strength, cardio, and mindfulness. Instructors will guide you through heart-revving large-range moves, muscle-building isometric holds, and grounding guided breathwork, giving you layers and modifications every step of the way to find success in every workout. Using barre3’s Signature props—the Core Ball, Circle Resistance Bands (like our loops), and handheld weights (up to 8 lbs.)—the class helps build muscular endurance through high repetitions with lower resistance.
