One of the hottest topics in the insurance world is House Bill 4611. Sounds boring, right? This bill would prohibit many factors used by carriers to rate auto insurance. Factors such as driver's age, s*x, credit score, occupation, and location. If passed, it is assumed that all carriers will increase premiums by $200 a year for a buffer and implement mandatory telematics to monitor your driving habits (Similar to Michigan who adopted this bill in July of 2020.). We don't expect this bill to lower premiums, but do expect it to forever change insurance in IL if passed.
