The Jet is delighted to offer new departures to enhance our JetSetter's travel experience!
Starting September 20th - October 20th, Thursday - Sunday, The Jet will now offer early morning and afternoon departures out of DC & NYC, respectively.

In addition, we are demoing our very first Tuesday departures!

You know what time it is! Please welcome Lilian Solomon - one of The Jet’s fantastic attendants.

Before working at The Jet, she worked as a bilingual customer service representative at Discover & attained her CDL driving part-time in gate transportation.

While Lilian has lived in the States for 10 years, she was born and raised in Honduras and has a deep love for her home country.

“It’s genuinely the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to. It has clear water! You can literally look down and see through it. Going out on a glass bottom boat you can see sharks and dolphins and swim with stingrays & jaguars.”

Whenever Lilian visits Honduras she makes it a point to gather the kids together in her community to teach them and discuss life questions and situations they are struggling with.

“The education system in Honduras is very poorly funded.”

Lillian acquired her degree in Education and is very passionate about preparing children to succeed in life.
“[ Sometimes ]...they need to be educated in things that textbooks don’t teach. Sometimes, to prepare kids for what's to come, we need to educate them outside of textbooks.”

This type of passion for educating the next generation could only come from someone who has experienced great care & love. According to Lillian, her grandmother was that source of support.

“My mom gave me to her when I was two years old. My Grandmother raised me. She cared for & loved everyone. If somebody was hungry and she had the last plate of food she’d have given hers away. She was a wise person. A free spirit. Anything you had going on, she would help you figure it out.”

When asked what advice she’d give her younger self, Lilian responded.

“If I could go back, I’d do so much. Take everything easy. Take your time. Don’t rush the results. Life will throw it at you, you gotta be willing to get up brush it off, and try again.

Anddd we’re back with our “Meet Our Staff” series. Today, we’d like to introduce Dwayne Jackson, or “Jack” as his friends call him.
Jack is one of The Jet’s many reputable drivers.

Much like the saying, he is a man of all trades.

Jack spent years working as a logistics specialist for the State Department before joining the military as a supply sergeant. He often juggled several jobs at once, including one or two of his own businesses. Jack also worked for Metro's major DMV transit for 25 years!

“I am inspired by go-getters. Bootstrap people. Not people that inherit or get life handed to them.”

During our conversation, Jack mentioned that his wife, Tara, taught him about valuing experiences and traveling. He lovingly recalled a tender moment when he’d gifted her a necklace, and she shyly asked if they could return it and spend the money on creating a memory together.

One of Jack’s favorite travel memories took place in Cancun.

“We were on a private beach and making friends and drinking. Whenever I ordered a drink I’d say ‘Make it a double’.”

After several days the staff nicknamed him ‘Doble.’ When they discovered it was his birthday during the trip, they all came out on the beach and sang “Happy Birthday” with a trumpet and a banjo.

“I’d never had a “Happy Birthday” sung in Spanish before!”

If Jack could give his younger self some advice, he’d have encouraged him to travel more and work less.

“‘Cause at the end of the day money is paper. Life is about experiences, not things. I’m getting stamps now – I’M GETTING STAMPS!”
