Prickly pear & Milk Thistle.

Wild Carrot or Queen Anne's Lace flower. One of my favorite Texas Wildflowers to see along the freeways. There's something so whimsical about them. They remind me of little mandalas. If you didn't know already, this flowers root is actually edible, and the smell is very similar to a carrot, but do your research, because it very much resembles the deadly wild hemlock. Crazy to learn how many flower and plants foods we have access to that we're not really taught about. I finally found a nice patch off of the freeway that was approachable to photograph and I'm so glad I did. 😊

These were captured the night before the Eclipse. We decided to drive 2 hours from the city for low light pollution to shoot the stars. Worth it.

Totally insane how it played out.
Camped out in a very rural area out in Red River County, capturing some star shots at night.
After hours of severe cloud coverage that morning, chasing clear skies, prepping our equipment, and praying for clarity, the clouds were completely swept away during the entirety of the Eclipse.
It felt so surreal, it took my breath away & I started tearing up at it's totality.
Then at the last few moments, right at the end, the sun was swallowed by the clouds again like curtains closing at the end of a show. What a miraculous thing to witness.
Such a blessing to experience this with the love of my life, my mentor, and a sweet human who stumbled upon us at just the right time. Coming together to capture this event with all of our gear felt like a dream. This is the diamond effect of the Eclipse. 💎

11.30.23 | Elephant Nature Park is an elephant rescue sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand that involves ethical treatment and rehabilitation for injured and abused elephants. Seeing these beautiful elephants being in the care of such an amazing park was a heart warming experience I'll always hold near and dear to me. They're such graceful creatures to see in action. There's also a documentary called Love and Bananas on this sanctuary as well if you want to see more. Bigger Life Adventures
