Rochdale Capital is proud to announce that it has recently closed a $265,000 loan participation to finance capital repairs for The Students' Cooperative Inc, a 32-bed affordable student housing co-op on the campus of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

After COVID-19 and other factors caused the housing co-op to deteriorate, the alumni organized alongside the North American Students of Cooperation - NASCO to get the building back on track.

Rochdale Capital worked with the lead lender Shared Capital Cooperative, a national community development financial institution, and Local Enterprise Assistance Fund (LEAF), a Massachusetts based community development financial institution on the transaction which totaled $1,415,000. Rochdale Capital recently closed a $499,600 loan participation with Shared Capital Cooperative and Sunrise Banks to finance the purchase of two commercial shopping centers located in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, to convert to cooperative ownership.

Two Black women-led organizations, Ignite Business Women Investment Group and the African Career, Education and Resource, Inc. (ACER) will own and operate the property and create an affordable tenant-owned cooperative for 27 black, immigrant small businesswomen to serve the local community.

This year's theme is “Todos Somos, Somos Uno: We Are All, We Are One.” Today, U.S. Hispanics are projected to experience an increase in homeownership rates and have the highest rate of new entrepreneurs each year.

Rochdale Capital recently closed a $412,000 revolving line of credit to ALL-IN-GROCERS located in Waterloo, Iowa. The loan will cover final construction costs and provide working capital after the store opening in October 2023. Prior to the line of credit, ALL-IN-GROCERS received financing from Self-Help, IFF, and other local and national lenders to support the store’s real estate development and operations.

Once complete, ALL-IN-GROCERS will create approximately sixty permanent full-time and part-time jobs for people of color that live in the community. This project is the first major development on the eastside of Waterloo in over 54 years.
