LVL-Up Strategies
We take driven people (executives, entrepreneurs, team leaders, our own people) to the next level.
This is a must-see! A perspective on Filipino American history AND heritage that you may not know about.
We’ve had so much fun celebrating FAHM this month, and we are very excited to share this compilation of incredible stories with you.
Thank you to CeeWave Productions for creating this beautiful documentary!

Building on History and Legacy: The Filipino-American Experience (The Official Short Documentary) From the East Coast to the West Coast, we are honored to share the powerful stories of Filipino-Americans, showcasing resilience, strength, and the countless...
Never discount a mom’s perspective.
Sheila Lirio Marcelo founded Ohai.ai, a platform that leverages AI-powered household assistants to lighten your workload at home. This was after taking care.com public, being only the seventh female and the first Asian American woman to ring the NYSE bell.
Stories like Sheila’s inspire us to continue elevating the Filipino American community.
Attend a Philippine American Chamber of Commerce DC event, listen to The Filipino American Woman Project podcast (which just launched its fifth season), and dine at the Purple Patch. The only wrong way to be a change agent is by doing nothing.
How will you help your community move forward?
The positive impact of Filipinos is felt around the world…and even on the moon.
Do you have to train others at work?
This cheat sheet teaches you an effective learning framework called the Developing Others square.
There are 4 primary stages of this growth journey. In each, there is a specific role for both the "learner" (aka "apprentice") and the "expert" (aka "master-craftsperson").
Effective progression around the square toward mastery means responsibility and support/challenge are gradually increased for the individual at each stage over time - not all at once, but calibrated to keep pace with the learner's ability to handle it.
Beware that Pit of Despair! Your learner will feel overwhelmed, and it’s your job to throw them a ladder and help them get out.

Lotta talk about buffalos lately. They run toward the storm—not away from it—because it is the fastest way through.
This requires strength though. You need physical strength to walk this earth as long as you like. You need mental strength so you’re not too afraid to start walking…and keep walking.
EFMs are practitioners in mental strength. We willingly walk into unknowns time and time again.
And don’t forget: buffalos move in herds. They aren’t going through that storm alone. There is strength walking through the storm and there is strength in numbers.
Let LVL-Up be your herd. Find out how: https://meetings.hubspot.com/nora-burke/discovery-call-website-round-robin
Tis the season of work anniversaries! And you can help us celebrate two of our very own, Nora Burke and Heather Pelaez!

You need more than a consultant to diagnose the problems; you need reliable experts to solve them with you. After working at LVL-Up for almost four years, LVL-Up COO Heather Pelaez has witnessed how our team helps Government Contractors solve complex problems in alignment with your mission, values, and business goals.
“It’s always rewarding to look through everything our team has accomplished for a client, from brainstorming solutions to the moment when the solution is implemented and working,” says Heather. “But, for me, the most rewarding experience is working with clients who have trusted us with their long-term growth and made us an integral part of their team.”
So how are we able to tap into our superpowers and consistently deliver excellent results to our clients? Our team’s adaptability, drive, and asynchronous approach allows us to fit into your company culture and deliver excellence.

Finding remote opportunities has been the key to building continuous careers for many military and Foreign Service spouses.
But transitioning to remote work isn’t as simple as taking your work home. For most, it’s a complete shift in the way you work.
That’s why we were honored to have LVL-Up CEO Rona Jobe speak at the National Military Spouse Network career summit. She shared practical ways we can explore portable careers, along with an 8-step process for creating one.
Hire LVL-Up as a speaker for your next panel or event by emailing us at [email protected].
We are remote and asynchronous but we still love bringing great people together.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended our roundtable discussion with Adrien Cotton and Rentrée Happy Hour at the Chief Clubhouse in DC.

Representation matters.
We hear this a lot in the entertainment industry, but it’s true everywhere.
“Dozens of Filipino American entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs—really anyone outside of the nursing field or U.S. Navy—have told me that they have never seen people who look like them in corporate leadership positions or as successful business owners. That if they had, maybe their thinking would have been influenced and their views broadened,” says LVL-Up CEO Rona Jobe. “I’m glad there's more representation now so our children can be inspired to explore all kinds of careers.”

You can lead a horse to water…
…but you cannot make an entrepreneur grow.
We can throw all of the strategy and planning at you, but it doesn’t matter until YOU are ready to do something with it.
This growth and challenge is scary, but LVL-Up is here to help you Get It Handled® when you’re ready.
Sometimes all you need is a clearer path forward.
Five years ago, a Virginia solopreneur hired LVL-Up to help them grow their design business. They found they were busy, but not growing. Their clients came back each year for additional work, but they were unable to sustainably grow their clientele.
After completing their strategic planning sessions, we found that the best place to start was by creating a digital presence and increasing leads through database outreach. Their implementation plan focused on that for the first year.
First, LVL-Up created a digital marketing ecosystem through social media, email, blogging, and a website refresh. Next, we chose and set up a CRM and documented the sales process, essentially creating a system for collecting, nurturing, and converting their leads. Finally, we analyzed sales data to set targets for outreach, leads, and revenue - which we reviewed every week during our accountability call.
The result?
The client doubled their revenue after one year and increased another 26% increase after the second year! From there, they were able to hire an Administrative Assistant and focus on systematizing their operations department.
The work isn’t easy, but it is worth it. As the client shared:
“The ROI for working with LVL-Up is amazing. You will make that investment back in no time. You see the results when you work with LVL-Up.”
This Solopreneur started with Strategic Planning Sessions. Learn more about this program here:

We LOVE sharing our clients.
They are too great to keep to ourselves. When we get the chance to showcase them to new communities in their target audience, we do.

Does work ever feel like you’re writing with your non-dominant hand?
You are AMAZING at the “dominant hand” stuff, but all the other activities required to run your business don’t come naturally and take up way too much of your time.
This non-dominant hand work is why you’re not having fun.
There are benefits to developing your “weak hand.” You improve your thought processes, learn important business concepts, and feel accomplished when you do solve little problems that arise. And as a Solopreneur, it’s on you to get it all handled.
But with some growth, you will realize that you don’t have to do this alone. You will feel the shift when the problem in front of you feels impossible or when you’re sick of spending time on these redundant and boring tasks. Get back to doing what you love most by automating and delegating those non-dominant tasks. LVL-Up can handle that for you.

Time is our most valuable asset. How are you spending yours?
Are you spending time on the activities that produce the most revenue? Or do you find yourself wasting time on tasks that could be outsourced for less than you’d spend to pay yourself for that time?
Time tracking is one of the first ways you can go from Solopreneur to CEO. This month, LVL-Up CEO Rona Jobe shares her top five favorite track-tracking apps to help you get started: https://www.lvlupstrategies.com/post/rona-jobes-5-favorite-time-tracking-apps-for-solopren
You are allowed to take your moonshot and bet on yourself.
That may mean you let go of things like household chores. Be empowered to outsource tasks and give your family the autonomy to step up. Liberate them to contribute, and you’ll be surprised at what you all will achieve.
You let things slide this summer, but you’re craving organization now that you have some “me” time.
It’s time to build your quarterly plan to create more calm, clarity, and direction for the rest of the year.

Sometimes you have to use your at-home language when guiding clients. Normally used for hurrying along slow-moving children, this motto quickly became a team favorite when shared at a weekly Huddle!
What home life phrase has made it into your latest business meeting?
Are you spinning your wheels and going nowhere? If you’re not sure, here are some signs:

➡️ Hitting your 2024 goals feels impossible.

Within three sessions, you will know which actions you will give you the best momentum. You will chip away at your annual goal because you have the roadmap in front of you.
