The existence of torus mandibularis or Tori (bone growth), is not all too common, in fact it's estimated that only 12 to 25% of the adult population has these bony overgrowths in the lower jaw. People who have this tori mandibularis usually have two, but they can exist on their own. They are a harmless growth. However, the bone can cause pain at times during dental procedures, and prevent replacement for some patients who have missing teeth.
