This week, you might have spotted our team proudly showcasing Lao cuisine at the 57th Anniversary celebration of ASEAN’s founding, alongside partners from all over Southeast Asia.

A heartfelt thank you to H.E. Ambassador Sisavath Inphachanh and his exceptional team, as well as our hosts—the U.S. Department of State, the US-ASEAN Center, and the ASEAN Committee of Washington for having us.

A special shoutout to our friends at and for their ongoing support and for continuing to spotlight recipes, ingredients, and products from Laos.

Try our Mee Kathi on the menu. Mee Kathi translates to “🥥coconut milk noodles” in Lao and is the everyday street food favorite!
This is the type of dish that looks great from afar but even better up close up.

We are excited to welcome Black and Brewtiful Coffee for an exclusive tasting of this Lao Coffee at Padaek in Arlington Ridge! This Saturday (4-7pm) and Sunday (12-3pm) Black and Brewtiful Coffee will join us to talk about her story, the coffee, and provide samples!

Bags of beans will also be available for purchase

What distinguishes “Black and Brewtiful Coffee” is not just its exceptional coffee beans but also its unwavering commitment to ethical and sustainable practices. In addition to partnerships with local coffee farmers, a portion of Black and Brewtiful’s revenue will be donated to two noteworthy causes: the Lao Disabled Women’s Development Center, which focuses on equipping disabled women with essential 21st-century workforce skills; and investing in community daycare centers for young mothers in the farming communities where currently mothers take their small babies and children to the coffee plantation during harvest season.
