Ever wondered what these new panels are at the Rosslyn Metro Station?
These are works by local artist Johab Silva, titled The Unbroken Stone No. 1-6. Each panel draws inspiration from natural stones and rock formations, stemming from the artist's personal experiences such as travels to the Amazon rainforest in Brazil or browsing jewelry at local businesses in São Paulo.
This is just one piece of our Art Elevated project, in partnership with Metro's Art in Transit program and MOCA Arlington! There are additional artworks from the Arlington Artists Alliance throughout the station. Learn more about this project: rosslynva.org/artelevated

Les and Seda are co-curators of SAMASAMA (Tagalog for "all together"), which began with the humble mission of celebrating diversity through art and gathering. It has evolved to curate year-round programs, events, and partnerships to honor ancestral and indigenous roots while pushing creative boundaries to grow understanding of multicultural identities.
This event is free and open to the public—any donations made during ticket registration will be directed to sustaining SAMASAMA’s cultural offerings. Shop local, support some amazing small businesses, and celebrate!
Notice how we're elevating art over construction at the Rosslyn Metro station!
Art Elevated is a temporary new public art exhibit on display now at both the station entrance along N Moore Street and at the foot of the station’s long escalators. While construction panels cover the escalators, eight art pieces from local Arlington artists beautify and add color to this corner of the neighborhood.
The BID was able to accomplish this through partnership with Metro's program as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington, Arlington Artists Alliance, and American Real Estate Partners. Every community partner played a key role in bringing this project to life. Learn more: rosslynva.org/artintransit
