“A great big shout out to Dr. Roberts and his team. My wife and I live a very active lifestyle. Getting back to the things we enjoy is really a game changer. My knee replacement surgery was a life changing decision. I gave it time, much thought and felt my body would tell me when the time was right. My only regret is that I didn’t do the surgery sooner. The orthopedic team was so dialed in. They have the process down to a science. Everything from the pain control to rehab of the knee joint was so well managed. In three months, I was back to doing the things I truly enjoy. I was a little reluctant to go on a long trip but took a chance and we flew to Portugal. The trip was amazing and with the knee replacement I was able to navigate all the technical aspects of the trip. Pain free at last! Thanks again to a wonderful orthopedic team.” - Barry Allen

“Dr. Eric Wieser performed a lumbar laminectomy & fusion on me on 10/16/2023. I consider him my “miracle doctor.” I am a 73-year-old woman, and I could not use my legs off and on from June 2023 until my surgery date. I would sit for a graduation ceremony or dance recital for my grandchildren and lose all feeling in one or both legs within five minutes of getting up to walk. It was very scary and even though I had issues with tingling, weakness, and numbness in my legs in the past 10 years, this was to the point I would have no feeling in my left leg and could not walk on it. I would fall over. I developed foot drop in my right foot, and I had an MRI that showed I had spinal stenosis. I tried therapy and two epidural spinal injections that only gave me a one-week temporary relief with each injection. I finally told Dr. Wieser I could not live with this pain and lack of mobility. He performed the surgery and worked his miracle. I am now 5+ months post-surgery and I am better than I have been in 10 years.
[AOA Orthopedic Specialists] has the very best doctors and therapy department. I am a big fan of this facility, their personal care of their patients, and my own personal experience with this group. I highly recommend this group of miracle workers. Also, Dr. Frank Rodriguez did my total hip replacement in 2015 and my total right knee replacement in 2018. Dr. Ryan Murphy did my husband's lumbar laminectomy and did an excellent job. I am a happy patient of AOA and I continue to improve every week.” - Sharon Kendrick 💙

“I was very grateful when Dr. Freese agreed to repair my ACL/meniscus tear. At 63 I knew the surgery, repair, and recovery would be a challenge. His confidence that I would do well really helped me through the physical therapy and healing. Thanks to his surgery skill, along with his encouragement, I was back in my garden at 7 months, on my knees planting tulip bulbs. At 9 months I was at Disney running/walking the Princess race with my sister and niece, and walking 20,000 steps a day with no pain. I couldn’t be more thankful for his great care.” - Lori Sultemeier
Learn all about joint replacements “then” versus “now” with Dr.’s Burnett, Rubin, and Pond. 👨⚕️
“Advancements in anesthesia and pain management techniques have decreased post operative pain and discomfort which allows quicker rehabilitation and recovery.” – Dr. James Burnett
“Some of the advances in hip replacements, regarding both approach (anterior), and some of the bearings, help greatly reduce the risk of instability. Knee replacements have been revolutionized with robotics, which facilitate very precise and accurate placement of components, which in turn helps obtain a more ‘natural’ feeling knee.” – Dr. David-Alan Rubin
“One of the big improvements in joint replacement is perioperative care. Preoperative optimization, multimodal pain management, and accelerated postoperative rehab protocols have really changed the whole replacement experience from a prolonged hospital stay with probable rehab placement to a much shorter stay and rehab at home, a much more pleasant experience.” – Dr. Jay Pond
