Studio PAUSE is so absolutely thrilled to share the news that we have been invited to turn our community handmade book project into an exhibit! A huge thanks to Arlington Arts for the opportunity!
So how does a space, which became a book, become an art exhibit? Come visit and see for yourself! Join us for the reception of We PAUSED! Unbound, Sat. July 16, 4-7 pm.
The first installation, titled "The Water Still Churns," features Sughra Hussainy, Seila Santiago, Ella Endo, Sushmita Mazumdar, MaryLouise Marino, Susan Sterner, and Lloyd Wolf. They will all speak at an artists' talk at 5:30 pm.

Join Us! for the Art Exhibit - WE PAUSED! Unbound - Opening Reception on July 16 between 4 and 7PM with an artist talk at 5:30PM.

We PAUSED! Unbound is a year-long exhibit in response to the 2021 project We PAUSED! A Handmade Book by artist Sushmita Mazumdar and Studio PAUSE for Gates of Ballston, which chronicles a year of the COVID-19 pandemic. When Arlington Arts invited Studio PAUSE to turn the book into an exhibit, the project team decided to cut the strings that bound the book and re-imagine its contents in a new light, letting lines of poetry pulled from the book inspire four thematic installations.

The exhibit continues Studio PAUSE, a community space for art and stories in Arlington, VA’s work in creating a space for all voices and providing support for our social-emotional wellness while documenting how we as a community can connect even when we are isolated.
