The Core of the Issue

Traditional spa covers, made with EPS foam cores wrapped in v***r barriers and cloth or vinyl shells, have a hidden cost. Water absorption leads to:

• Energy Waste: Reduced energy efficiency (R-Value) due to waterlogged foam cores. A full detailed study to illustrate how severe these energy loses are can be read here, (or click the image above for just the highlighted chart). This report shows a 25% loss of R-Value in just 1 week when EPS foam is exposed to water in cold weather.
• Chemical Waste: increased use of harsh chemicals is needed to combat mold and mildew growth and foreign debris getting into your spa water.
• Water Waste: Dirty water drains into your spa increasing the need to change and refill more often.
• Shortened Life Expectancy: Premature cover replacement leads to filling landfills. A recent study done with the cooperation of the State of Oregon says that “due to their high rate of failure, over 145,000 spa covers are being tossed into the trash per month in the US alone”. If these were all 8’ covers laid end to end, in one year the line of trash filling our dumps would be 3,000 miles long and stretch all the way from Seattle WA. to Orlando FL.

The ASC Earth-Friendly Solution

• Less Foam, More Efficiency: Using our patented laminated foam core technology, all Advanced Spa Covers use about 20% less foam while simultaneously increasing the R-Value by a minimum of 25% per inch of thickness. Less foam means less impact on our natural resources and higher R-Values leads to less energy used. It just makes sense.
• Waterproof Excellence: Our covers are the only ones using closed-cell XPS insulation board, absorbing only 3/10th of 1% water weight by volume. Compare that to traditional covers, which can soak up a whopping +40% water weight by volume. Imagine the difference – 46 lbs. versus just 3 lbs. over the cover’s life for an 8’ x 8’ square cover. This saves energy and increases the life expectancy of your cover, while saving your back from lifting heavy waterlogged covers too.
• Increased strength: Our patented lamination process has been certified by UL Labs to support over 1,000 lbs. See the UL report here. Added strength leads to increased life expectancy.
• Longevity Matters: Longer cover life expectancy means fewer old covers filling our landfills. Six years later, we are still the only cover manufacturer that offers a limited lifetime guarantee.

This particular home was featured on the several years ago. The previous owner wanted to cover the spa for the next owner. After a year or two of research, emails, and correspondence, the decision went to us. Thank you so much for the opportunity! It was an absolute pleasure.
