FELINE HERPES?! These two brothers came in for coughing and sneezing 🤧 A lot of cats (especially shelter kitties) are infected with herpesvirus 🦠 Luckily, it is a different strain from the human virus and can’t get us sick! This is a life long issue that can be triggered by stressful events. Mild signs can be reduced by using lysine treats but for sicker kitties, an appointment is needed for stronger medication. These boys went home with famciclovir (an antiviral medication) and will hopefully feel better soon! 😺
It’s been a long summer ☀️ but we are finally back baby!! 🐈 ☕️
Happy Friday the 13th from all the black kitties who came in to NOVA cat clinic today!! 👻

✨New Patient Spotlight✨Welcome spunky and adventurous Benoit (A.K.A. Benny ☺️) to NOVA Cat Clinic!! Benny loves to climb on your shoulders like a parrot 🦜
These HANDSOME boys came in for their dental recheck today! 🦷 Dental rechecks are an important after a dental cleaning, especially if there were extracted teeth. Doctors are looking to make sure the area is healing properly and there are no other problems. Chicken 🍗 and Waffle 🧇 (yes, that is their names) were purrrfect boys for their dentals and just as good for their checkup with Dr. Torres!!
Peep their ADORABLE collars (plus the accessories)

✨New Patient Spotlight✨Welcome Flanders and Rocky to the NOVA cat clinic! Enjoy a churu on us 😉
Lets talk about 🪱 WORMS 🪱 or rather DE-worming…
Melo is showing us how brave he can be getting his dewormer at the vet! ❤️
Deworming is important for the health of your kitten and yourself (they are contagious to humans as well!) Kittens can aquire worms or parasites via their mothers’ milk and adult cats can aquire them through flea eggs-giving more importance to the use of Revoltion Plus 🧡 💚
Deworming is a liquid medication administered orally or a topical medication. The duration and type of treatment varies depending on the parasite present. 🫧Always make sure to wash your hands 🫧after cleaning the litter box to prevent getting infected yourself! 🦠
Todays ✨Whisker Wednesday✨goes to Fiona!!
You could say thats one cool Kitty 😎
Jinx is our fabulous ✨WHISKER WEDNESDAY✨of the week!! Congratulations Jinx🥰
There are many parameters that we monitor during surgeries. One important parameter that we monitor is the cat’s temperature 🌡️ A normal cat’s temperature ranges from 99:5-102 degrees. Some methods that we use at Nova Cat clinic to help keep the cat’s temperature from dropping too low include:
•A warmed towel over their body (seen in the second photo)
•Warmed socks on their feet (seen in the third photo)
•A heated pad (seen in last photo)
•Replacing head towels often to keep face dry/warm
✨New Patient Spotlight✨Welcome Lacey to the Nova Cat fam! 💕 Though her face may look grumpy, Lacey is in fact the sweetest little cuddle buddy who enjoyed lots of pets and brushes from us! Thanks for a good photoshoot Lacey 📸
