Petite Manseng, a grape varietal from Southwest France also grows well in North Carolina. 🌱 There are at least a half dozen producers in the state and growing because the varietal grows well in our climate and soil. Some vineyards are producing award winning wines. Which local producer is your favorite?

As I was drinking their Village Tart cherry hard cider this evening, (which pairs REALLY well with dark chocolate) I read that their downtown tasting room is looking for a new home. Don't panic! Stop by the Rankin location over the next couple days to enjoy a small discount on their current inventory (so they don't have to move much product). Then, make plans to visit them in Leicester until they have multiple tasting room locations again.

Just this afternoon, clarification was provided by Governor Cooper's office concerning the classification of wineries, cideries, meaderies, as well as breweries and distilleries. It has been determined that these business are NOT classified as bars and may resume "normal" operations following the guidelines given to restaurants. This means that while you can now have a beverage onsite, things will be different.
