I will never forget this day and can’t even begin to tell you all how thankful I am. I love you Katherin, more than I ever thought possible, and I am forever yours. 🤍

But let me back up a little and tell you the shortest version of this story that I can and that starts with nearly a decade ago in D.C. Our friendship began in such an unlikely way that I already felt like something had changed in my life and when she introduced me to Katherin it was like my whole world opened up. And after nine short years she was our photographer for our wedding day. P! What?! Omg I just can’t even with this my friend lol. Going to start crying again just typing this out.

I’ve never felt so overwhelmed, and simultaneously completely at peace as I did on this day. I’m guessing many of you know exactly what I’m describing! We’ve been working on our plan for about a year and knew that it would be just us and G. There was never going to be a way we could have everyone with us that we wanted to be there but it would be perfect no matter what that looked like.

And it really did all come together, almost in the last few hours in some ways. Our location was somehow completely empty, the sun was out, outfits were sorted, and doors to buildings with AC were accidentally left open. Our notes to each other somehow still made it through all the tears and the song I surprised K with even played correctly. pushed through sickness and happy tears AND still even brought some flowers and cake. She absolutely crushed the photos that we that knew would help us tell the story to everyone we loved and missed.

So we fully let go, and we reveled in it, and I just can’t imagine a better life with my little family.

We’re so thankful for everyone that has come together already to help us celebrate, and to plan, and to help us make this day happen. This list is LONG but you know who you are and we appreciate you. To the rest of you that we haven’t seen yet, or caught up with, we’re not done! And I know that I’m going to talk about this day, to whoever will listen, for the rest of my life. It really is all somehow just that good.

A year of reminding myself to take photos for me too. More to come when I’m back on earth…

It’s the last day of summer. For me at least. I know this because my calendar is lit up in every color from tomorrow until mid-December.

So I took a last minute trip to…outside. I knew I had missed the good light by hours, and I knew I had other things to do, but when you get to the top of a good hike you’re reminded that most of your daily thoughts and concerns faded away on the way up. I took seven photos and only saw three people and a dog. Success.

This summer was a good one. I have a bunch of snippets to share but I’m not convinced that most of them will actually make it online. I know this because I intended to do a year in review story roughly two years ago and got about four months in before deciding I was wasting too much time on my phone.

Anyway, just saying hello. I hope you’ve had a good one so far, and I’ll probably see you more on here again soon.

Caty + Gray : There’s so much I want to say about this day but sometimes it’s overwhelming to even describe. I don’t know how to explain the depth of detail and artistic attention that Caty put into designing all the paper goods, tablecloths, dinner napkins, menus, the bottoms of her shoes…the dance floor! Or what it means to have 250 of your friends in your family’s backyard. There’s just so much that goes into every wedding day and I always feel the energy building from the moment that I arrive. Caty and Gray turned everything up to a whole other level and then they just immersed right into it and effortlessly floated through it all.

K + J : Just married! In the winter, in the mountains, and somehow not looking cold at all despite normally living life as marine biologists in sunny Hawaii. 🐠🐬❄️❤️🥂💍

Yesterday at around 6 a.m. I made the last minute decision to hop on the motorcycle and head out into the mountains to make some coffee. It is one of my favorite things to do and I don’t do it enough. My dear local friends, we are so insanely lucky to live in this place. This snapshot doesn’t remotely do it justice, it really was too stunning to properly capture with what I had but I had to just run back and snap it anyway. If you’ve been taking our mountains for granted just take this as a nudge to get out there before the long cold winter is back.

And sure I have a million work photos that I’ve been anxious to share but in the last few months I’ve been reminded over and over of the value of time. My time has been spent editing thousands of photos for my clients week after week and in the little breaks that I’ve been able to carve out this summer I’ve fully embraced using it for the things that bring me happiness. Reels aren’t it, fighting algorithms isn’t it, SEO gaming isn’t it. Family is. Travel is. Little house projects and coffee rides, yep.

So yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to. I suppose some of this has made it’s way into my stories from time to time but I had a few unexpected minutes open up this morning so I thought I’d drop in and say hello. You good?
