The Wheeler Opera House is excited to bring opera to Roaring Fork Valley schools this October! In participation with Central City Opera (CCO), students will experience Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Girl in the World, with some schools offering a bilingual (Spanish/English) pre- and post- performance activities, enhancing the learning experience. Over three days, the program will reach more than 1,000 students across five schools, combining live performance with interactive classroom sessions led by CCO's teaching artists. It's a wonderful way for the Wheeler to share the arts and create enriching experiences for youth throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. ⁠

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Joyce Miller Semple. Joyce served as president of the Wheeler Associates and her dedication, passion, and vision were instrumental in shaping the Wheeler's legacy. Her influence on Aspen's cultural scene and her passion for the arts have left an indelible mark on our community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

As the Wheeler welcomes a new executive director this month, we thought it would be fitting to remember the first, Mr. Robert "Bob" Murray. Bob oversaw the renovations of the Wheeler that led to the week-long 1984 Grand Re-opening (the 40th anniversary celebrated in May of this year). Bob remained at the helm until 1998. We would love to hear from you about your favorite memories of Bob and his time at the Wheeler!
