Peyton Hendricks comes from a background filled with a STEM curriculum, dotted with doodles and drawings in the margins, but made the leap of faith into deciding to study art in 2016. Since then, she has put everything she has into developing her skills as a designer. In most recent years she has found a sincere passion for, and joy in, typography, type design, hand lettering, and formatting documents. Currently, Peyton is the eldest of three student designers for OU’s Housing and Residence Life in addition to running HRL’s social media. After graduation, Peyton plans on moving to Bloomington, IN and continuing to seek opportunities that will allow her to grow even further.

Naila Latham is a double major in Graphic Design and Photography. Up until her senior year of high school, she wanted to be a forensic pathologist, so art was not always the goal. Naila found her passion for graphic design through participating in yearbook club her senior year and then fell more in love by participating in Variant Magazine, a student publication on campus, as publication designer. Naila will be attending graduate school for arts administration after she graduates to further pursue her dream of working with students who are interested in the arts.

Lauren Peters has always been passionate about art since she was a child and began exploring digital photography through her highschool’s career center, where she also became interested in working with mixed media. Lauren finds interest in collage work, cyanotypes, film photography and digital design and her love for the outdoors is shown in her attention to florals and bright colors in her work. After college, Lauren plans on moving back to Columbus, Ohio and later has goals of finding a job designing within the music industry.

Zoey Oxley is a senior in graphic design who has a passion for hand-lettering typography and illustration. She has been drawing and painting for most of her life but fell in love with design in college. She takes a lot of inspiration from pop culture and social justice. In the future she plans to work in type design.

CJ Herr been studying Graphic Design since 2016 and has an eye for color theory and typography. She has a passion for sustainability and the environment. She has worked as the design editor for the ATHENA yearbook for the past 2 years and is a designer for Bricklife Entertainment. CJ plans to continue her design career working with non profits and identity branding, starting right after graduation at Video/Action.

Kat Kelly is a senior in Graphic Design and has been studying in specific areas of interactive design and color theory. Kat has a strong passion for environmentalism and human rights activism, she will be pursuing a career that is dedicated to using design as a form of communication for her passions. She has worked for Ohio University as a graphic designer starting her junior year and into her Senior. After graduation she plans on working for nonprofits and exploring more national parks when she has free time :)

Lainey Douglas started her design career in high school when she taught herself the Adobe programs. She started out with magazine design going on to do Art Director and Creative Director roles with an on. Meanwhile taking internships with OU Housing and Residence Life, Dolly Parton Imagination Library and freelance opportunities. Minoring in Social Work has given her a passion for advocacy and nonprofit work. In the future she plans to continue to working with nonprofits in Columbus.

Jenna Porter has been studying graphic design and photography for 4 years now. She has been passionate about art since she was young and took every opportunity to take art classes when it was available to her. Once she was introduced to graphic design and photography, she found an outlet for her creativity and art. Her graphic design focuses on product design, storytelling, and more. Her photography focuses on mental health and capturing people for who they are. She is currently working for Metropolis Design Studio.

Maddy Ross has always had a passion for art, taking art classes her entire life. When coming to OU, she knew she wanted to do something in the fine arts and took a leap of faith with the
graphic design program and fell in love with it quickly. She has a favorable passion for digital
illustration and has been doing lots of freelance throughout her college career. Maddy hopes
to pursue a career in illustration or publication design and can’t wait to see where the future
takes her.

Grace Prexta has loved art from a young age. In kindergarten, she made a drawing that said “When I grow up, I want to be an artist” and here she is today! While in school, she’s worked with professor Don Adleta as a design assistant, done design work for the university at OU Printing Services, and spent maybe too much time making coffee at Front Room Coffeehouse. Post graduation, she plans to road trip out to Oregon and live there until she finds a creative job she loves!

Sophie Little has been an artist/designer her entire life. She started with painting and drawing as a child, then quickly became passionate about graphic design during high school. She also has plans of becoming a tattoo artist after graduation. Sophie has worked as a part-time graphic designer at Graeter’s Ice Cream in Columbus, OH for the past two years and will continue as a full-time designer after graduation. Sophie has goals of living in NYC and continuing to learn and explore every facet of art and design throughout her career.

Jessica Adams has dedicated most of her time to her education. Double majoring in Graphic Design and Art History, she has found a passion for typography. During her free time, she enjoys escaping reality through fictional means such as video games and literature. Although Jessica considers herself a ‘jack of all trades,’ she is hoping to start her professional career in book design, contributing to two fields that she loves dearly.

Katie Boyd has had a passion for the arts her whole life. Graphic Design was the perfect way to channel her creativity. She enjoys photography, product design, branding, and infographics. After graduation, she plans on pursuing a career in branding or product design.

Brooke Garrett started their artistry back in 2010 when they discovered Flipnote Studio on their Nintendo DSi. Since then, they have blossomed into a graphic designer with a focus on illustration, photography, and a wee bit of animation. Brooke currently is the Art Director for Backdrop Magazine and the Graphic Designer + Marketing Assistant Intern at Capstone Property Management in Athens. After graduation, they plan on staying in the Athens area and work with Capstone full time.

Madison Stumbaugh has been studying Graphic Design and Computer Science since 2017 and Illustration since 2016. Throughout her college career, she has worked as a commission artist, specializing in character design. After graduating, Madison plans to attend the University of the Arts London and pursue a master’s in Game Design.
