"The building can sleep up to 24 firefighters, leaving 12 on duty, and has bays for five vehicles. It also houses the county fire services headquarters and was designed for the fire services to have space to accommodate growth."

Join RW Allen Construction + Associated General Contractors of Georgia, Inc. (AGC Georgia) as well as other for the AGC Skills Challenge EAST 2024 - This event will be held in Augusta, Georgia at The Georgia Carolina Fair, 308 Hale Street on November 21, 2024 starting at 8:30am.

WHAT is AGC Skills Challenge?
This annual series is a statewide of over 2100 students from 104 schools competing in challenges that showcase their skills in , , , , and with blueprint reading, heavy equipment, , fine furniture/ , , and sheet metal being offered at select challenges. Winners from each region will go on to compete in !

Challenges are hosted in Augusta, Columbus, Gainesville, Macon, Marietta, Moultrie, Rome, and Statesboro.

WHY?
Work force development. There is a need and Skills Challenges help address the labor shortages in the industry. When contractor members and community leaders come together to engage with AGC, we are all helping to expand the hashtag pipeline!

HOW can you help?
Please consider getting involved in one or more Skills Challenges for the 2024 series! Some ways to consider engaging with this statewide workforce development initiative is to offer a hands-on exhibitor experience at a Challenge for students, provide sponsorship dollars through our 501c3 foundation, or to have a seasoned professional from your company serve as a competition judge. We are also in need of in-kind donations for materials. Perhaps you have other ways you'd like to connect with the students such as sponsoring the prizes for all of our category winners. The opportunities are endless.
