Congratulations to Liz Schulze for being selected as MPA Student of the Month!
Liz is a part-time MPA student entering her fourth semester. With a background in aging and disability services, Liz applied to the MPA program to blend her professional experience with formal education. She finds inspiration in the coursework and values learning from the diverse experiences, passions, and knowledge of her peers, faculty, and staff. The program motivates her to explore the “Why?” of public systems and aims to graduate as a more competent and confident public servant, with enhanced skills in public policy, program development, implementation, and evolution.

Congratulations to Sohee Kang for being selected as June MPA Student of the Month!

Sohee is a student from South Korea pursuing a dual degree through the UGA MPA program and the Masters of Global Public Administration at Seoul National University.

Prior to her graduate studies, she had worked as a deputy director (grade 5) at the Ministry of Education in Korea, where she specialized in university administration and higher education policy. She is preparing to take her career to the next level through the UGA MPA program as she decided to pursue in-depth academic training to enhance her advanced managerial skills, flexible perspective, and analytical abilities. She hopes that her experience at UGA will elevate her professional competency and confidence.

Summer internships are in full swing and our MPA students are crushing it!
Kendall Brantley has a great internship with Athens Downtown Development Authority!

Our MPA students were out getting hands-on experience in the community of Waynesboro, GA this week. They entered data on over 2,200 parcels of property for a housing assessment project in Local Government Practicum!

Graduating this month with a specialization in Local Government Management, Maddie plans to work as Administrative Analyst for the City & County of Broomfield Open Space & Trails department. She is passionate about local government and hopes to work her way up to a department head position and eventually become a City or County Manager.
