It was an action-packed game tonight against #2 Akron. Both teams played neck-to-neck throughout the night but the Zips came out on top 65-62 in a game played down to the final buzzer. It’s cold outside but that didn’t stop our third pep rally with fans and alumni at Harry Buffalo on Friday evening. We played to a sold out crowd and it’s safe to say downtown Cleveland has now been painted Green and White. Headed to Rocket Mortgage Field House for our MAC Tournament semifinals contest against the Akron Zips. Go Bobcats!!!

Former Ohio Football coach Frank Solich was named to the 2024 Mid-American Conference Hall of Fame induction class, as announced by the conference on March 15th. Earlier this year, Solich was also named to the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame class.

We wanted to give a huge Bobcat Cheer shoutout to sophomore Madie Stock. Madie was recently recognized by the Ohio High School Cheerleading Coaches Association for her successful transition to college cheer. Madie is from St. Clairsville Ohio and is a Pre-Law major. She’s an extremely valuable member of the Ohio University cheer team and fulfills a number of key positions including power tumbling, mid level and top in pyramids, and of course her partner stunting and sideline cheer skills. Congratulations Madie!

LAST ONE, BEST ONE!

It’s an official wrap on the 2023-24 cheer season at Ohio University. Our final team practice of the season happened tonight. We spent the evening working on some long-forgotten football pyramids and some random partner stunts in anticipation of next year. We ended the night with a season wrap up from Coach Becky and our graduating senior captain Lillien Heywood calling the team break for her very last time.

Next week, our travel team heads to Cleveland and Rocket Mortgage Field House for the MAC Tournament. Our Women’s and Men’s teams have clinched a spot in the playoffs and we’re excited to be part of the post-season basketball tournament action!
