A Sense of Place • Peace of Wild Things
A woodstork, ancient and long-legged, wades through the tea- stained marsh waters. It is a marsh dweller and slow moving observer, carefully stalking its hunt. The white bird flashes black feathers as it soars through dark sky and over murky waters, graceful in flight.
“I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.”
From “Peace of Wild Things” by Wendell Berry
Last show! We will have a limited number of tickets available at the door for purchase. Doors open at 3:30. Show begins at 4pm with a soft opening by Susan Murphy at 3:45.

A Sense of Place · A Council of Trees
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Warm air blows south into the hot, damp sacred grove where Cypress trees twist out of rich, dark, damp soil. A chorus of insects and amphibians ring in the sacred grove. Step through the trunks and accept a communion with nature. What do the trees have to teach us that we haven’t slowed down enough to understand?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Look, the trees / are turning / their own bodies / into pillars / of light, / are giving off the rich / fragrance of cinnamon”
