Every Tuesday at 1pm, AAMS offers mediation services for free at the Athens Courthouse! Use our services to resolve your small claims conflict without court dates and headaches.

Athens Area Mediation Service is bringing back our annual SouperBowl! 🍲 Come join is on February 5th at the Athens Community Center from 4-6 p.m. to enjoy a variety of soups and artisan bread. Tickets are $25 and go towards supporting mediation and conflict resolution services in our local community.

Our 6th and final tip of the Home (and Help) for the Holidays series is forward looking to enter the new year well. Build off any positive experiences over the past few weeks to strengthen relationships.

Tip #5 and a bonus on the shortest (and darkest) day of the year, approaching a potentially busy weekend! Take breaks (for yourself and others) and identify who is there to support you.

With the change in temperature and the darkest day of they year fast approaching, we're glad to announce we're partnering with NAMI Athens to provide a free Mental Health First Aid class to the community in the new year. The course was developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to teach how to effectively recognize and respond to mental health crises. While the topic is always relevant, it may be especially pertinent for winter time, which brings additional isolation and challenges for many.

Tip #4 as we head towards the beginning of Hanukkah and holiday parties. Intentionally take a moment to acknowledge the good, even if it's small. This can be especially grounding if you're experiencing the stress of the hustle and bustle or catch yourself moving into autopilot.
