On this last day of February, I’m remembering the dream I had years ago that told me it would be possible to intervene and save children who are being exploited, protection withheld from them for the sake of increasing profits. What I documented as the cause of injury to children is what I refer to as putting profit over protection. Navigating Justice is focused on a few children who need our help, children it is possible to save if we pull together. Contact me if you’d like to know more. navigatingjustice.org
I’d love to hear what your next move is! Let’s make this year our best by serving over and above expectations. #2022
Do you enjoy watching a heart-warming success story in the making? Love seeing children have the ability to get what they need from their parents?
Navigating Justice learned about the separation of this mom and child while serving children whose parents are in a Fulton County custody battle. It's a good thing for Paige's child that her mom's story became known, as this child and her mother could easily have become statistics. Domestic violence often leads to children entering the system, and children in the child welfare system make up over 80% of children identified as s*x trafficking victims.
We are doing more, though, than just helping to head off a potential disaster.
Paige is eager to finish her education and to go on to law school so that she can help others like her and her daughter.
Since learning of Paige, we have seen a case plan with DFCS come together, her criminal case moved forward after many months of no activity, and housing that is wheelchair accessible is secured.
Thanks to social media connections with Men Stopping Violence, we have support for a bond if needed for her release and we now have education support lining up. This means that Paige has a clear path on which to achieve her goals, and to do so in a SAFE manner and where - this is the BEST part - she can be with her baby girl and be able to provide for her.
Thank you for showing up for Paige and her baby!

What is your wish for your family this year?
Our goal is to serve with empathy and excellence as many parents and children in the Atlanta, Georgia area as we can, resolving conflict in the best way possible. Let's talk about what this means and how we get there! https://navigatingjustice.org/contact/
Protecting the parent-child bond is one of THE most important things we can do this year as we work with families going through high-conflict situations. Professionals who serve parents and children during litigation must focus on what children need from each parent and stand in the way of anything that threatens a nurturing, healthy relationship.
What are your best ideas for protecting the parent-child bond as a lawyer or counselor?
